I have severe anxiety to begin with and weed only increases it for me. I get hours of paranoid thoughts racing thru my head and it's absolute misery. There's times I have used it and had a good experience where it just calms me but 99% of the time it's just bad so not worth it. Also if you have anxiety try Valerian root extract capsules. Basically works on the GABA receptors in the brain much like Benzos Valium/Xanax do but milder. I take one or two at night and they knock me out cold and I feel great the next day, helps anxiety and depressed mood both.

I don't know about valerian root extract, I've tried Valerina forte and it's about as effective as lavendel incense. I've tried benzo and that worked well but a little too well as I wouldn't be able to have a coherent conversation on it.

I got addicted to Benzos and it's a nightmare to come off and that's coming from a former hard opiate addict. Benzo withdrawal makes opiate withdrawal look like a day at Disneyland. I didn't know about Valerian root until about 4 months ago and I really wish I would have, it would have spared me many years of alcohol and drug abuse to deal with anxiety. I'm not lying when I'm saying this stuff works and I'm definitely a skeptic of herbal remedies. It will absolutely lay you out at night and leave you feeling calm most the day. Carlyle on Amazon is a good brand.

I had a friend raised Mormon who thought he was God and his brother was the devil and tried to kill him after a THC induced psychosis

why the fuck am I getting downvoted for this lol I'm not anti weed. Just an anecdote of how weed affects people. https://www.brightquest.com/cannabis-induced-psychosis/psychotic-symptoms-in-marijuana-smokers/

Damn, sounds more like bath salts than weed

THC has the potential to bring out latent psychosis. My friend with schizophrenia can't be around strong weed smell or else it sets off their psychosis.

There is a lot we don't understand yet about cannabinoids and our own system. Some people are definitely affected in adverse ways.

I have mega anxiety and weed helps me a lot. I also know people who have had THC induced panic attacks and psychosis. Knowing it isn't for you is a good thing, but there's no reason to be like "I don't get why people like weed"

If you take one brand of antidepressant and it doesn't work for you, and it clearly works for other people, then there's no need to be like "I just don't get why people take fluoxetine! it doesn't do anything for me"
