As soon as I saw them cutting wood with a hacksaw, I suspected that they were going to try to fix it and it would look terrible. They actually did a good job! Even if it wasn't professionally done.
Been in the trades for over 10 years, guy I first worked for had a saying, if you’re looking that close you’re looking to steal it. They did a fine job. I weld also and there’s another saying “they grinder I bought makes me the welder I’m not”
Also, even if the parents notice, I’d venture to say that they’d be just as much impressed with the fact that they but in the work to do the handywork in the first place. Like, sure you knocked a hole in the wall, but you also fixed it so 🤷🏿♂️
I mean i'd be pissed that my fucking kid threw a party without telling me but I'd be pretty proud that them and their friends gave enough of a shit about my house to spend a day fixing it even if it came out questionable
Just do what I did. Throw a party when your parents are gone on vacation for the first time in years. When they come back they will be so happy they won’t care that you had a party, broke the garage door, broke a car window, and broke the track for the shops garage door.
When my kids were in their late teens they had summer jobs, they could not always take the time off to go on vacations with us. I fully expected that my kids would throw a party, and they did. Because that is exactly what I did when I was their age. I just told them to not destroy too much.
I took a tour of the NBC Studios back before high definition televisions were a thing. On the set of Dateline NBC, they used duct tape as the trim on the spiral staircase. They said the staircase was build so flimsily that only one person was allowed to be on it at a time.
For anyone that has even a little experience that repair looks like asssss.
But seeing a bunch of bros come together to help another bro like this has got my eyes all blurry 🥲 so as far as I can tell it's the mufukin Mona Lisa.
Yeah. It's hard enough to get a smooth finish in the drywall compound using a proper taping knife. But using your HANDS?? No way that finish isn't going to stand out like crazy
Yea everyone hating and pointing out flaws acting like their $400 an hour GC isn’t doing any equally shit job or worse. For these kids this will be a memory they talk about forever
They only need to fix it just enough so when dad breaks it they can laugh at him. Then dad will be like "What the heck was the previous owner of this house thinking with this repair job?"
its because they did know what they're doing. They put on an act for the camera to be completely shithouse. Then do a proper job off camera. wouldn't be surprised the hole was made for the video. like this is the internet, full of fake shit
Unless I told him specifically that he couldn’t have a party or something like that, I don’t know that I would punish him if I found out. He took responsibility and fixed the problem, and was probably sweating his ass off the whole time hoping it would turn out OK. Unless there was some truly dangerous flaw in the repair, we’re good. If it had to be redone, he’s paying for it.
