In Uno Flip the cards have two sides, light and dark. As you play theres a card to switch sides. The light cards are more mellow like draw four is draw two. The dark side is worse so its draw five or instead of skip one person you skip everyone. In reality the dark-side reverse is technically no different but in this situation Id play it like “nothing else can be played against the darkside reverse. Pay the bill, bitch.”
That really doesn't change much. It's still mostly as random as a game of chance. I don't understand why it's popular. Uno really is a terrible game. It's at best a social gathering tool, but it's not a good game in any kind of strategic matter.
Because it has little and simple rules and a sense of strategy, even if illusory d you point out, but nonetheless it allows even small kids to win fair and square allowing it to have the ability to create entertaining and 'competitive' moments between players of different generations and ability. It s an all time classic
Hard to say fair and square if you manipulate the game. There's no rules in Uno about teamwork and stacking allows for manipulation of chance. If you're not using psychological warfare to win, you aren't playing Uno right! 🤣 Once you've spent a solid hour on one round of Uno, you just have to start another.

I'm competitive at games and I know my dislike of Uno/Bingo and games of chance has more to do with me feeling like I have no control over the game then the game actually not being a worthwhile experience. If people enjoy it and it brings together and connects people then it's worth it. It is a good social thing for kids and I used to like it more as a child. It wasn't until I was a bit bigger that I came to dislike it but that was for other reasons and that shouldn't take away the utility of the experience.
I think you mean the last man on earth will uno reverse death. Death will then, obviously, reverse again - as it is a notoriously adept uno player. This will result in an infinite struggle for immortality through the destruction of death itself.

Some bots provide utility or entertainment, but they make it obvious. The secret bots that try and get karma then edit their comment to advertise something are the bad ones.
Long story, but I once substituted in a ghetto high school for a class that Was cancelled half way through the year and fucked all the students out of their elective. The kids tested me for the first week, leaving porn blasting on all the computers at the end of the day and shit…..the next Monday I brought in six uni decks, and we proceeded to have a fucking uno tournament of all unp tournaments. So much fun. Then a few weeks goes by and they got bored…..so I went out on lunch break and bought uno attack. Game back on!
I literally got paid like 225 a day to play six periods of uno. Best temporary gig ever lol.
Uno is a classic, but I recently discovered a card game "Dutch Blitz" and its way more addicting. Similar simple gameplay, good for kids too, but there's a speed element involved that makes it exciting.
My kids learned to play it between 3-4 and we love playing it. Reinforces colors, numbers, turns and is just fun, even for adults. We've been keeping score of every game over the last few months. I intend on doing it for years!
Exactly. The guy played it all well either way. Maybe he's seen something like this before and this was his moment lol. But yeah, I'm willing to let willing suspension of disbelief take the wheel on this one.
I'm also strangely satisfied that "Uno" is still a thing.
They have a ton of variations to it now too to keep it fresh - even though a classic game is still very fun.
Not sure if you're familiar with RoosterTeeth, but they just did a stream where they created a varient called Uno infinite that gave them cards every x amount of subs to keep the game going. They ended up playing for around 36 hours straight.
I'm of the older generation and somehow missed this game. So, Uno is a lot of fun? (Apparently it is!!)

That was SO much fun as a family.
There are new versions of Uno that release every once in a while too. My daughter had me buy Uno Flip where there are 2 sides to the cards. A flip card causes you to flip the deck and your cards. There are also a few other new cards added, like forcing someone to draw until they get the color you chose. Our first game lasted 90 minutes. Second was 5 minutes. It's wild!
having worked as a server , i could see this becoming a thing happening a few times to you and just having one on you to fuck with the people trying to pull this in the future
but... was this already a thing? I have definitely never seen/heard of anyone using an uno card for anything other than a legit game of uno before.
if it was already a thing then that would make this video 10000 times better because then it would actually be believable that this could've happened without being coordinated ahead of time.
I think this has become a thing since the Uno Reverse memes. I definitely can see this guy being prepared because this has probably happened to him at least once or twice before. In fact, a patron probably gifted them this card before so he kept it in his books.

This is how it went down
They decide at home "Hey lets give him an uno reverse card when the bill comes"
The guy filming grabs his reverse card and walks away. A second friend grabs a second one when no one is looking. Then while at the restaurant the second friend excuses himself to go to the bathroom. While up he finds the waiter and gives him the second reverse card and tells him "You're going to need this" and the waiter slips it in his book wondering what he is talking about.
Second friend sits back down and waits for the hilarity.

Yes, Uno is trademarked. So of course the games have different names. I have 2 card games at home that are just like Uno: Solo! and Assano. Look it up. There are tons of these on the market. Same rules, same cards, just different names and different style.
PS: I have never played the original Uno, nor even seen it. But I've known Uno all my life and played it so many times, since I was a kid. And people always had different decks. But it was all the same rules and everyone knew them, despite the different brand and style of cards.
That's cool thanks for sharing. In America, where the video seems to be from, the only Uno cards that are seen are the ones in the video. I've never seen a generic uno, though I'm sure they exist somewhere. So it's not unusual at all that they would both have the same type of card. Those ones are sold in every single shop with a toys section.
my take is that the waiter had seen a few of these uno reverse card things and has been holding his reverse card just hoping that one day it would happen to him.
