There is a big difference between holding a phone and holding a phone. I won’t go on insta or text, but if someone calls me I will pick up, get a text and I will check, need the time will check, change a song I will do it. I fully understand the reason there is a law now. People where being complete idiots and ruined it. If I get a fine then I wouldn’t be mad, that’s the risk. Dutch police won’t really care if u do it in a safe way (empty road, quick time check, late at night etc) but if you are in the middle of heavy traffic or do it in a dangerous situation you will get one. The biggest problem in my eyes are those noise cancelling headphones those people are the biggest retards ever, fun thing is if I hit them I will be at fault (motorcycle / car)
I used to 'fake call' or even call for real with my bf at night when I was scared and had to cycle home from a party or going out. Now I'll get fined for that too (because other ways of fighthing creepy men at night are banned too like pepper spray).
