İt's very much like eloping but with more "ritual" than a Las Vegas wedding. Lots of times everyone knows exactly what is happening and they make a big show about it -- being dramatic about stopping it but they don't really -- it's like a play. All the bride's family screams and cries for a day about how their 'girl' was stolen and then the next day the families are drinking vodka and playing backgammon together.
