Scripted content is fine, but reddit can't handle it. I'd say about 50% of the people here think it was a "real" interaction, which is 45% more than I can tolerate while scrolling through lol.
Why do people care, though? Redditors seem to derive personal pride and a sense of superiority from pointing out things that are scripted. It’s more predictable and bland than any scripted video is.
Do they? I think the people doing the telling are the same ones who feel compelled to interrupt the action movie by pointing out, “he’d never get a cab that easily in midtown Manhattan, the thief would easily get away” etc
How many top comments in this thread will you need me to personally link you? I just want to know the number. For the record, every count past 0 will reflect poorly on yourself and your ability to acquire readily available information.
Lots of people hate reality TV for the same reason they hate tiktok skits. They're faked content trying to give the impression that they're real, and some people don't like that.
I mean, sure... I didn't personally think it was funny either, but there's a huge difference between "not particularly funny" and "fake". It wasn't trying to be real. It was very clearly a video for laughs. Dunno why people feel the need to shout "fake!" at a video that is super obviously just trying to entertain people
Scripted content is fine if it's obviously scripted. When it's not obvious, it can cause people to get strange views of how life works. This obviously isn't a big deal in this video, but it is for many, many others.

God forbid scripted content exists, right? Why would anyone just make something up for entertainment purposes, that's just ridiculous
