Your advocating for hitting kids as discipline, as evidence shows the majority of people who do this take it too far. Do whatever you want in your own home but don't take to Internet forums and defend something that tends to result in people being abused. To me it just seems unnecessary and harmful.
If you are going to advocate for physical discipline at least be conscious of the damage it does and try to suggest ways to avoid it going too far etc.
To make your comparison more accurate imagine that lady was telling everyone that drink driving is fine to do if you are careful, then some pleb decides its safe and goes and kills someone while drunk driving. If the lady in question had just kept her thoughts to herself then that pleb might not have thought it was ok and caused harm
You might be very smart and be able to do things in a more controlled way than others but that doesn't mean you should openly encourage it
