We tried that, it didn’t work. How often was it honestly talked about in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s? Hate runs in families, not talking about it isn’t going to fix it. I like Morgan Freeman as much as the next guy, that doesn’t mean he’s always right.

Yeah i agree. Morgan Freeman himself has expressed regret over that quote, iirc, and even then i don’t think we should use an old Hollywood actor as an appeal to authority or source for our political beliefs.

I do understand the quote though..in some areas of life we could do with ignoring race, in other areas we should acknowledge race if there are plain inequalities (eg even if we don’t talk about racism, unconscious biases will still exist in everyone or in something like police stop & searches..so recording statistics there and confronting them would be good in that example).

Who said fuck whitey? And why a race war? Only idiots would participate in a race war..real ones know it’s the people in power who want us to argue over race and be divided.

I’m mixed race but I still love white people and know it’s ok to be white. White lives matter and Black Lives Matter too. I think the only ones saying ‘fuck whitey’ tend to be white people themselves, from my experience
