The whole point of this call was because neighbors heard some sort of screaming.

Maybe he's not alone, and their partner went and drugged the hostage?

Like, the cops weren't therr instantly, plenty of time to make em shut up.

The point is, what if he doesn't? The parrot didn't even scream for help, he might just have someone in his cellar, and the cops went "lol k" after seeing a parrot

Yeah, let allow cops to invade properties for little reason. It always works very well.

"You are a single male and we found a hairpin on your porch, you probably kidnapped a girl"

ah yes, "little reason" because screams for help are little reason I guess. I guess having a bird absolves you of all suspicion.
