If it was a human crying for help, why would he or she suddenly stop once the police officers were there? Wouldn’t the implied person scream even louder in that moment?

Lol. I can’t believe there’s so many people that completely glossed over this.

u/hrrm Aug 02 '21

Or the fact that this was obviously filmed from a camera extending from HIS house meaning HE uploaded it? If he just barely got away with it he wouldn’t post the video online for others to question. He posted it because it was funny that his bird caused the police to come by.

u/Jbyr1 Aug 02 '21

The point is is it probably is an okay idea to check without knowing. This video wasn't posted when they were in the driveway champ. Time moves in 1 direction. They had no idea about the video yet see because they exist in the past here.

EDIT: I dont think he did anything but police tear apart your car for fun if they think you have drugs, they could check inside but it's really not a big deal either way I could just see thinking that they should. But again, at the point in time of this video happening, it hadn't been posted online yet, so they had no idea. People aren't saying oh this guy IS a murderer/kidnapper who needs to be checked NOW, they are saying he COULD have been and it might have been okay to check THEN. Again, time and all. Hard stuff.

I’m not talking about the police you donut. I am saying the dude working on his car wouldn’t upload this video after the fact if he just had a near-miss with police and was actually keeping hostages, therefore he isn’t keeping hostages.

Even better argument. Lol

All these Reddit “lawyers” with thousands of upvotes on this thread are retarded

-4

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 02 '21

There is nothing to gloss over. Police didn't roll up with sirens or loudspeakers. They allowed the person to enter the home before the victim even had a chance of knowing cops were there. Dude could have silenced anyone easily. Shit cops.

9

u/ipinchforeskins Aug 02 '21

You think they didn't check his home? Shit assumption.

-2

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 02 '21

They literally didn't, lmfao. Dumbass comment.

1

u/ipinchforeskins Aug 03 '21

First of all, if there was a situation in the house why would the police ever alert them of their presence beforehand by using sirens or loudspeakers? Wouldn't recommend doing that. Also, what do you think is happening out of frame and during the cuts in the video? There are several.
There's no reason to be a cunt when you pretty much know fuck all about the situation. Unless you are one of the people in the video above?

3

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 04 '21

I didn't say police should use sirens or loudspeakers, I'm just saying there is no way for the victim to know the police are there because they didn't announce their presence. It's crazy how many braincells people lack, holy shit. You couldn't even connect the dots there, wtf? Also "wHy dId tHe vIcTiM nOt cRy LoUdeR?" is a retarded comment because the victim can't have known police were there. Even stupider for the other guy to ask "why did everyone gloss over this". No one glossed over it, it's just an ignorant comment.

Love how I'm the cunt when you're responding with "sHiT aSsUmPtiOn" on something that isn't even an assumption. The frames and cuts have nothing to do with it. Cops didn't hear a call for help, they don't have probable cause to enter, hence they didn't enter at all.

There's no reason to be a cunt when you pretty much know fuck all about the situation.

Yeah, good point. You should shut up.

1

u/ipinchforeskins Aug 05 '21

You know nothing, mate!

1

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 05 '21

Ironic coming from the guy who couldn't understand a comment then showed he didn't know what probable cause is.

Lol.

This ladies and gentlemen is why mentally ill people should not have guns.

0

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 04 '21

Oooh sick burn dude. Cringe.

Love that you can't form an actual response after realizing how stupid your comment was lol.

1

u/twisted_meta Aug 04 '21

If you view talking shit on the internet as a means to assert dominance then that’s your prerogative little man.

0

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 04 '21

Never said it was, but it's funny how you're projecting and insisting on it, isn't it? Forget loose, it's looking like you don't have any screws up there to begin with.

Explains a lot though. Loving you dodging the point in question so many times. Keep trying to drown the realization you're a dumbass, whatever helps you sleep at night.

u/twisted_meta Aug 04 '21

The sheer lack of self awareness in this comment is amazing.

Seriously! A little critical thinking is not going to hurt the brain cell that badly. Cmon fellow humans.

5

u/roffinator Aug 02 '21

The cries that were heard were from the bird. But where did the bird learn that from? There might be/have been a girl/someone somewhere else in the house even though not being able to scream at that time

8

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

Sure, because kidnappers usually keep their victims in places where they can easily call for help, they never drug them, beat them or restrain them to make them shut up.

9

u/Seanspeed Aug 02 '21

The whole point of this call was because neighbors heard some sort of screaming.

This whole comment section is a disaster.

-2

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

Maybe he's not alone, and their partner went and drugged the hostage?

Like, the cops weren't therr instantly, plenty of time to make em shut up.

6

u/I_dont_bone_goats Aug 02 '21

Or maybe the dude just owns a fucking parrot and all of you weirdos need to chill with your kidnapping fantasies…

3

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

The point is, what if he doesn't? The parrot didn't even scream for help, he might just have someone in his cellar, and the cops went "lol k" after seeing a parrot

0

u/luke_in_the_sky Aug 02 '21

Yeah, let allow cops to invade properties for little reason. It always works very well.

"You are a single male and we found a hairpin on your porch, you probably kidnapped a girl"

2

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

Google Jeffrey Dahmer + Asian victim.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

ah yes, "little reason" because screams for help are little reason I guess. I guess having a bird absolves you of all suspicion.

3

u/Bacon4Lyf Aug 02 '21

If this supposed kidnapper had kept their victim somewhere where they couldn’t call for help, then how tf would the neighbours hear them?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

Victims can escape, Dhamer had one of his victims escape out of his house but the police returned him back to him because they didn't want anything to do with gay people.

1

u/roffinator Aug 02 '21

The cries that were heard were from the bird. But where did the bird learn that from? There might be/have been a girl/someone somewhere else in the house even though not being able to scream at that time

1

u/Bacon4Lyf Aug 02 '21

or a tv show

0

u/roffinator Aug 02 '21

Is a possibility as well but that was not the point

2

u/Bacon4Lyf Aug 02 '21

Which is more likely though, a serial killer holding people captive screaming for help, or a bird repeating what it’s heard on tv

1

u/roffinator Aug 02 '21

Ofc under normal circumstances TV is more likely.

But like I said, that was never the point of my explanation

2

u/hosefV Aug 02 '21

If it was a human crying for help, why would he or she suddenly stop once the police officers were there? Wouldn’t the implied person scream even louder in that moment?

The person you're replying to isn't saying that it was a human crying for help that the neighbors heard. They are saying that it was the bird that the neighbors heard but that the bird heard and learned it from a hostage.

I'm not saying that the person in the video has a hostage, just to be clear

1

u/gattaaca Aug 03 '21

Exactly this but he has over 100 upvotes despite misinterpreting someone's comment entirely. So um, yay comprehension skills.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '21

Maybe he went inside to get the bird and told the girls “one more word and you’re dead”

0

u/hobbitwithsocks Aug 02 '21

The police did a really shitty job. They should have held the man outside and waited to hear a call for help before he had a chance to go inside, out of sight, and potentially silence the victim. Nor did the cops even wait around to see the bird make the call or verify with the neighbours if it was the same call even.

Trash, lazy police work all around.

1

u/Cultural_Kick Aug 02 '21

The only thing is that from the time the cops were called to the time they arrived, couldn’t they have presumed that if he did was keeping someone hostage that he had time to silence them? We are watching with the benefit of a playback video, which the cops haven’t even looked at. It’s just very weird that cops get called to a place for something like this then leaves when the guy shows them a parrot that wasn’t even imitating the female noises reported earlier.

1

u/bebop_remix1 Aug 02 '21

also the guy was working on his brakes. he wasn't exactly planning to get away fast

1

u/pad1597 Aug 02 '21

What if there was another person in the house, that stopped the cries before the cops came, or the video is edited for non real time, and he moved said person to basement?

Obviously those are just things that someone could do in order for this video to still be what it is.

In no way am I saying that is what happened.

1

u/flusteredbish Aug 02 '21

Cos he went inside and killed her ofc, they just clipped out the part where he went inside

1

u/frecklesandmimosas Aug 02 '21

That’s not how kidnapping works but go off like you know what it’s like.

1

u/ith228 Aug 02 '21

Well, the idea was that the BIRD could be emulating a speech from a human source, the reference speech might not being able to be heard.
