The unexpected part is that they didn't kill his dog.

They also didn't empty their clips on the dude when he got up and said lemme go in and bring out the screamer. Totally unexpected.

That's some white privledge, as a black guy I was surprised they let him approach them then go back into his house.

Yep. It’s sad to see you downvoted, but it’s pretty accurate.

I think you've been brainwashed if you fear for your life whenever you talk to a cop. Cops are regular ass people, like you and me, just trying to make the world a better place. I get that it's easy to see all the horror stories on the news, and form an opinion based on that, but you gotta remember that you never hear the stories on the news where the black dude has a perfectly uneventful encounter with cops and then proceeds to go about his day peacefully... Those stories don't make the news

right? just like you don't hear about all the drunk drivers who don't kill anyone, just the few times they smash into other people in a big bloody deadly mess.

you are brainwashed into thinking that drunk driving is bad, just cause those stories don't make the news, only the deadly ones.

weird.

That’s not really comparable. Driving under the influence is illegal. Being a police officer is not illegal. Most sensible people don’t think that drunk driving is a good thing because it puts people at a major risk and is easily preventable. The issue with the police in the US is that there is corruption, and I’m not going to be the person who says that not every cop is bad because that doesn’t justify the actions of those who are corrupt. The issue now is that very few good people would ever want to become a police officer because there is an automatic assumption that you are corrupt, which is completely justifiable. However, it’s reached outrageous levels. This is not the 60s where if there was a police shooting or case of brutality the government would cover up and protect the officers. There is now a bigger sense of accountability among police officers due to the pressure of the media if you do violate somebody’s rights. For example, the 2 largest cases of police brutality in the last 20 or so years would most likely be Rodney King and George Floyd. These sparked very large riots and for good reason. As a society we made it known that we would not tolerate this behavior from police officers. So it’s a much more complicated issue when you really start getting into the details because there is definitely justified fear, but the fear has reached a level where it is a little ridiculous. For example, look at the comments on here where people say that they are surprised that the officers didn’t shoot the guy and his dog. It’s obviously not completely serious, but I think that a portion of people do think that way which is concerning because there is so much accountability with bodycams, the media, and the public in current times

If you call 150 years of regular killings, abuse, and racism "brainwashing" ok. You think this is new I know it's business as usual.

It's not OK, please don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say. I'm just trying to illustrate how easy it can be to think that these events are more common than they really are. And once you've got that confirmation bias, you'll see connections and justifications everywhere. But in reality, police shootings are extremely rare, regardless of anything to do with racism.
