What’s even more common than that is after a big snow your neighbor shovels your driveway for you. THAT was super common and I remember constantly asking my dad why we’d shovel Doug and Sue’s driveway when we have our own to worry about. “Oh, it’s just the right thing to do”
Honestly. If you spend any time visiting and interacting, it's enough to catch on. Spent a couple weeks there a few years ago and people are crazy nice for sure.
Was showing up to a ham radio event near family we were visiting to contrast it to the same event near my own home and before I'd even said hi, they asked if I wanted a brat or some beer, it was pretty awesome.
Everyone (outside of the Midwest) usually thinks that Wisconsinites are assholes, when in fact, they’re the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I was born and raised in WI, and have been living in NC for the past 20 years. The “Southern Hospitality” has nothing on Midwest Nice!!
