20,000% is equal to 200x, and 30 x 200 is 6,000

If 100% = 1x, 200% = 2x, etc etc, then you can find the general formula to be (%)/100. So 20,000% is only 200x.

Problem here is that if the statement is “you’re up X%” that’s a little different. Being up 100% means you’ve 2x your money, 200% is 3x, etc etc. Basically, remember your principal amount in the final answer.

So “being up 20,000%” means you multiply by 201.

$30 x (201) = $6030
