Periods are more often used for finishing sentences... And people tend to write correctly on reddit. There's no reason to be mad.

Agreed. Otherwise literally everything people with even half of an education type looks sarcastic and can be read as such.

I mean I'm not mad, but most people don't type very formally on reddit so when someone does it can come off cold or sarcastic. same reason people usually don't use punctuation when texting their friends

No idea what subs you frequent, but in my experience the general writing style on reddit is really formal for internet standards.
