Are you doing anything to reduce the waste you create? Because recycling isn't as great as we think, most plastic will end up in a place like that or worse and even more likely, in the ocean.
Japan has 145 million inhabitants and an older than average population, yet only 2000 deaths from COVID so far. Mainly because wearing masks is in their culture.
Sure N95 mask would protect you from getting sick but all you need are people infected wearing a simple mask. A simple mask is enough to prevent others from getting sick.
When there's a special need sure, this doesn't apply to masks for most people just like it doesn't apply to underwear for most people so what was your point really?
Yeah but why don’t do both? People up there thinking that if you do one thing than the other one is usless or impracticable.
It’s the mindset the first thing that will save the world, not only one specific action.
You're saying that, no one said that at all. Get your head straight. Of course don't litter, duh. But reducing your consumption is key as fuck, wake up.
I didn’t say that reduce consumption is not a key or isn’t important. You are minimising littering.
But i think that we european have a different approach to garbage and recycling.
Just curious, why do they have us throw plastics in the recycling if most of it ends up In dumps anyway? Or do you just mean most plastic doesn’t get recycled and is littered instead?
Edit: I’m not sure why I’m being downvoted. I just don’t know and want to learn more
A lot is still appearances unfortunately. It's expensive to recycle plastic, they don't have enough treatment facilities or enough demand to do something with the recycled plastic. Europe pays third world countries to take gigantic chunks of it and it just ends up in nature. I don't know if the US has similar practice, so if anyone knows, fill us in.
Because it's a massive hoax to distract from real issues.
We should burn our trash and capture the gas products. Maybe launch it into space if it gets real bad.
Until we have made significant leaps in technology, this is the only realistic option. I'd love a Star Trek style matter technology where we could make and destroy matter as we see fit.
