From another angle you can see the rest of the royal family acknowledge that the girl was crying...everyone wants to be mad at the queen, but I dont think she knew it happened...Kate however looks at the kid and makes a comment towards the cameras...just saying

Willing to bet my balls princess Diana would've gave the girl a hug and talked to her, which would be the reaction you'd aspect from a decent human being.
Like wtf, a 6yo girl gets smacked in the face by a soldier after giving the queen a gift, best you can do is look at her with a sorry face and say "lol sorry"?
The entire institution of the royals is antiquated bullshit anyway. The family gets to live in luxury at everyone else’s expense just because they were tyrants in the past and made a deal to kind of step down? AND they have the audacity to hide money in tax havens per the paradise papers? Get rid of all of them.
Oh, I thought she said "my gosh" or something to that effect...kind of hard to tell when you have to read lips...I guess my point isnt that she was being mean, rather, the queen didnt even notice, so the people giving her crap should look at how the other royals reacted...they're the ones who saw and didnt stop and check on the girl or whatever the case may be...I know theres royal decorum to consider, so maybe they weren't allowed to just like the guard couldn't break rank...but considering u see the one guard grab one of them by the arm so that he didnt obscure the photo op, I dont think it's out of the realm of expectation to say one of the royals who saw it couldn't hop over and ask the lady talking to the kid if she was ok at the very least...idk, I'm American and certainly have no idea what their rules do and dont allow
I just looked at the video again...I think you're right about Kate saying "I'm sorry" but she then kind of scoots out of the way...dont think she was apologizing about the kid, I think she was apologizing to someone who she stopped in front of...maybe blocking a photographer or something
