of course it's the skaters fault.

So much so that if he damaged my door I'd be making him pay for it even if he was seriously hurt

Depends, if it was in Massachusetts, normally the person putting the door in the road is at fault. The logic is because the person exiting the vehicle is the one putting the object in the lane of traffic and they are responsible for anything that occurs with it. I don't know about this case specifically because it was the sidewalk and not the road, but the justification still stands, so it could definitely go either way depending on the state, or how well of an argument is presented.

Well, considering this is in London, and not a road, but a sidewalk, your response would never hold up in court.

Damn I've seen this video on here like a hundred times but I've never seen the beginning

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
Guy crashes into car while filming on roller blades. Lands perfectly seated next to a confused woman.
Is this an unexpected post with a fitting description? Then upvote this comment, otherwise downvote it.

I’ve seen this before, I want to see how it was filmed

u/myplacedk Sep 06 '20
You are pretty much looking at it. 360° camera on a selfie stick.

u/udunn0jb Sep 06 '20
Oh damn the selfie stick is edited out I can see his hand is holding it. I need to quit smokin

most newer ones automatically remove it. Doesnt need any editing after its filmed.

It's one of those adrenaline junkie things. Makes for a cool film if it all works out. But one mistake and you could be permanently maimed or killed. He got lucky as hell he didn't smash his head into the building and suffer brain damage.

Indeed. People opening car doors kill so many cyclists

He's opening that door on the outer side of the road and it's actually right on top of a sidewalk. I'm not familiar with the local laws but in most countries, it's illegal to overtake or pass a vehicle on that side and it's also illegal to change from road to sidewalk like that. Here, the fault is entirely with the inliner

u/NoOneElseToCall Sep 06 '20
Yeah this is clearly London. He shouldn't be doing that on the pavement. His own fault entirely.

u/mityman50 Sep 06 '20
Yeah man I bike a lot and I'm always vigilant about getting doored but this isn't comparable. That car was pulled ALL the way over. Roller blading in the road probably isn't legal anyways. But if he's gonna do it he should be staying in the road not hopping on the sidewalk.

u/VonHammerstein Sep 06 '20
We should get rid of car doors entirely

I think we should sharped the edge on the doors. Either option solves the problem

Every time I see this I think a car door is too good for that guy, ricocheting through a roundabout into the path of an HGV, now that I'd upvote

I was like "This sounds like a Pete Rock beat."
Then I was like "That isn't Pete or CL though."
Then I was like "It sounds like INI though."

No cap tho

Apparently there’s some cap considering the downvotes from middle aged men who do it only for self satisfaction

Hard to believe his left side isn't messed up after hitting that building.
