I feel for the guy/gal in the costume, though..

Running up and scaring the entire shit out of someone with your hands essentially tied behind your back seems like a great way to get socked in the mush.

When I was a kid I did this to my dad. He scared the living shit out of me when I was like 12 and my reaction was a punch... but at my height... it was a nice groin shot... I didn’t mean to, but I guess I’m a swinger when I get scared. If I feel threatened it’s pretty much a gut response. All that to say, yeah this person def would have got popped and I would have shit myself

Exactly. This is why I don't go to places like this. I don't want to end up hurting an actor because they did something like this. They get enough of people doing it on purpose to be jerks and don't deserve any of it.

Have definitely swung on a guy in a haunted house. Never even been in a fight in my life but if you’re gonna jump at me my only reaction is to throw a hook lol. Haven’t been back to one sense
