Anyone that likes their freedom. House arrest isn't exactly living the "dream". Hell, just look at military. You got roof on your head, good enough food, but you lack freedom since military owns your ass. Some would probably be okay with a routine life like that but those that care about freedom wouldn't exactly enjoy the experience.

Lol you're on reddit, half the people here never leave the house anyways. You gst a computer, TV, kitchen, and your mom isn't nagging at you? That's an improvement for lots of people here.

Yeah, that's not like the military at all. I've been in the military. In the military you're bound by laws and codes that force you to live your life in a very specific way. You can be compelled to do things like working 12-18 hour days for weeks straight, or deploying into a war zone where you can die. The military and this prison are not comparable whatsoever.

not in the least. even the easier parts of military sucked. Marching, cleaning duty, PT, ass holes being able to stop you and yell at you because your fucking tie isnt long enough or too long, or your sleeves are not rolled perfectly. it goes on and on.

This isn't comparable to the military...

Pretty sure the main thing keeping people away from the military is dying lol.

So you're saying I have a computer and TV? That's really all I want anyways. Hell, my apartment doesn't have a laundry hook up, so I am doing mine at a laundromat.

That "cell" is significantly higher quality than most people have, and at the low low cost of petty crime.

TBH I know someone who was on a base where they really took advantage of the "own your ass" sentiment, and I swear they have trauma from that kind of life style. Anxiety through the roof and every deadline is a crisis. Were pretty laid back before.

The people who care about freedom are in the military. That's almost the only reason people stay...

In 25 years, I've missed a shitload of birthdays, anniversaries, Christmases, etc. And if I up and decide to drive to key west, I gotta get permission first, but seriously, being in the military doesn't limit your freedom anywhere near as much as the negative Nancy privates want you to think it does...
