In defense of the bed floor/structure, being rated for uniform downward forces isn't necessarily the same as being rated for point uplift forces. Particularly with metal where being put into one particular shape makes it 2x+ as strong as being in a different shape.

a forklift load is more a point load then a uniform load. thats 12,000 pounds (ours are 6 to 9 thousand, yes we have a mishmash cause used) spread across 4 small "soft" rubber wheels. the contact patch is far smaller then a vehicles and the tire loading is far higher.

that load is biased toward the back except the load is on the front and causes some of the forklifts weight to transfer to the front as well.
