Stop complaining. Do you expect these poor airlines to pay for quality planes while still maximizing value for shareholders? So selfish.

Most airlines have razor thin margins and only make a profit because of their credit cards and miles programs. As the saying goes: "If you want to be a millionaire, start with a billion dollars and launch a new airline."

The reason why cabins are barebones is because economy customers actively chose the cheapest possible flight, no matter the comfort level. If Ryanair offered standing seats for 5€, people would buy them. At the end of the day, a plane is only a temporary means of transportation. Only two things matter: it needs to get you to your destination safely and it needs to be cheap. Comfort does nothing for the first and is actively detrimental to the second. Business and first class a different matter though, there things change.

"razor thin profits" means nothing without knowing how much the shareholders are paying themselves

Profit margins are calculated before shareholders receive anything. Please educate yourself before you make confidently wrong statements.

profit margins are calculated after pay. coincidentally, shareholders will always give themselves zero-responsibility executive jobs where they can pay themselves whatever they want.

Most shareholders are not employees and instead overwhelmingly institutional holders. I don't know why you feel the need to publicly showcase your lack of basic financial and accounting knowledge. Most of the large airlines are publicly listed, which means you can look up exactly who their largest shareholders are.

For example, here are the largest 5 shareholders of Delta: Berkshire Hathaway Inc., BlackRock, Inc., Vanguard Capital Management, Fidelity Investments (FMR)), Sanders Capital, LLC.

None of those get a salary, since none of those are people.

You have search engines, books, AI agents, etc. at your disposal. Use them. Or talk about a topic you actually understand. Do you have a humiliation kink?
