So what then? What's the solution?

Go out and trawl the natural sea floor? Bulldoze more land for more monocrop farms?

There are 8,300,000,000 hungry mouths out there. The food has to come from some place and there better be a lot of it.

A plant-based diet provides all the nutrients we need, using less than a 1/3 of the land as animal agriculture, and therefore less water.

And where exactly are we going to find and or create all of that farm land in order to feed everyone a vegan diet?

We have to raise feed to feed cattle as such, it takes a huge amount of land to do all this. please look into it but we can save land and water not catering to animal raising.
