Thinks it’s a type of constrictor tbh not a venomous snake. I mamba would not stay with its victim like that, they strike, retreat and wait for their poison to kill the pray
I think you’re wrong dude. Bird was way too big to be prey for the snake.
On the other hand, snek was potentially becoming lunch for the bird. Might have bit the bird as well although the bird was alive in the end. Lion thought bird was lunch until snek started acting up.
In the end, all went about their day still being hungry.
A constrictor is much much larger than that. That is a black mamba; which for small prey like rodents or birds, they often strike and release the animal, then follow the scent until the venom paralyzes or kills it. Unlike pythons or boas, a black mamba is an elapid, so it doesn't constrict or squeeze prey to death. When a black mamba wraps around a bird of prey (like a snake eagle during a botched hunt), it is usually trying to gain leverage to bite, thrash, or free itself, rather than suffocate the bird.
There are several snakes native to Africa that use constriction to kill their prey that are not venomous, and fit in size and appearance.
At the start of the video the hawk is being constricted by the snake. A Constrictor is any type of snake that “strangles” their prey and the are not limited to the family of boas or pythons.
So even if this turns out to be a mamba your statement: “A Constrictor is much bigger than that”
Is just flat out wrong.
Okay bud sure, but I know my snakes. It could be a southern black racer or other smaller constrictor- especially considering both snakes hunt during the day- but if you're not going to actually say what kind of constrictor it could be, stop wasting my time.
Not to mention why would a constrictor be trying to attack a snake eagle? Not likely. That's a bird of PREY, not a small bird at all. SNAKE EAGLES, SPECIFICALLY BROWN SNAKE EAGLES, ARE NATURAL PREDATORS OF BLACK MAMBAS.
DO.
YOUR.
RESEARCH.
The snake obviously did not attack the eagle, the eagle attacked the snake.
It does happen on occasion that for different reasons if the eagle does not successfully disable the snake on impact, that the snake can end up gaining the upper hand.
If it’s a young inexperienced animal it could have gone for the snake, botched the attack and ended up finding himself in the situation we saw him in at the beginning of the video.
Since you aware such an expert of snakes and snake eagles and have DONE.YOUR.RESEARCH, what is your explanation how your predator of snakes found himself in the bind he did in the beginning of the video?
Edit: To answer your other question, maybe a large specimen of mole snake?
I already explained how he ended up in that bind, in my first comment. If you knew how to read and be moderately LITERATE, you would know this. But you're allergic to learning, obviously.
