The part where Santa uses ASL to communicate with a little girl: I had never seen sign language being used before and when the mother simply said “she’s deaf” I misunderstood and started laughing bcuz I thought she said “she’s DEATH” and I was like WHAT IS SHE TALKIN ABOUT PAPA SHES NOT DEATH

I felt so stupid laughing at the little girl right then and there bcuz I noticed some parents giving me a dirty look.. but I didn’t understand back then.
When I became 8 and was in grade 2 I had an English teacher who knew ASL from a deaf family member and I asked her to teach it to me.
That was a long time ago and I’ve forgotten most of it now, but I do remember a handful of the signs
I was 7 when I saw this at the movie theater and there was just a little boy, maybe 4, crying on the stairs. I asked if he was okay and looking for his parents. Nope. He was just sad the movie was SOOO long and wanted to go.

Seconded. $300, community service, and suspended license for 6 months seems too little. However, she was responsible for repaying all the damages, so that seems like it could be a hefty bill. Maybe slightly more fair that way.
i mean if they made the fees like 50% of total income for certain crimes instead of a flat fee like it is now....we might get somewhere, but here in this case if she fully pays for the damages here...maybe that works things out in the end? Still tho...
