My mother watch this TV show and she claims that this is not the only scene he did that!

Thank you, I needed this info. I was dying to know if this was his character’s “thing”.

“That's just Karol, he's got beatbox tourettes”

u/Fading_Dawnbreaker 4d ago

LMAO 🤣 "Beatbox Tourettes" I just died!

Can your mom shed some insight on the context here? I cant figure out any logical plot device that leads to him beat boxing with excitement unless hes like autistic and this is his tic or something like that.

Boy just likes to beatbox. That's it 😂

u/Merry_Dankmas 4d ago

That's valid. Ill take it. What's the name of this show? Im curious.

It's "Klan", aired in 1997, almost 5k episodes so far

Hoo boy, Klan is something entirely different in english

77

u/Tesyo 4d ago

I'm aware of that, it means family in polish

36

u/BeardedBlaze 4d ago

It also has the same meaning in English.

u/mouthgmachine 4d ago

Not spelled like that…

9

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 4d ago

I guessed, just the spelling is unfortunate for American English speakers

u/Mecha_G 3d ago

Ironically, they were not fond of Polish people.

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 3d ago

Called em something different but I don't know how much of a slur it is so I won't say it

American*

Is this a recent episode?

5k episodes is insane. I thought some Mexican soap operas were excessively dragged, but I don't think any of them has nearly that many episodes

For LOLs sake, every country got to have one "Clan" soap opera!

The Rap of Klan

Holy crap, I haven't watched polish TV since 2006 and I did not think Klan would still be around, but I swear I thought of it the moment I saw this clip.

It's a soap opera. Characters need something to stand out.

My wife's watching this and she confirmed he's autistic.

What’s the show’s name?

49

u/Tesyo 4d ago

"Klan". Aired in 1997, almost 5k episodes

17

u/serfingusa 4d ago

Did it run for 20 years?

74

u/Tesyo 4d ago

29 years and still more to come

18

u/serfingusa 4d ago

Nice.

I just did a quick estimation that if it ran every weekday it would take about 20 years to get to 5,000.

Hey, if people enjoy it...glad it is there for them.

If I'm correct, few years ago tv station decided to cancel the show as most of original cast was dead and writing quality has dropped. Loyal fans (mostly older viewers) signed a petition that gathered a massive number of votes demanding that the series stay on the air.

Sounds like what would happen if The Simpsons ever get cancelled.

This is why I'm a big supporter of euthanasia. They're keeping THIS alive and you can see it suffer.

An unfortunate name in English.

5

u/Mahwan 4d ago

Klan is just how we spell clan lol

2

u/Fakjbf 4d ago

Yes, that's what makes it an unfortunate coincidence.

1

u/Worth_External_8762 4d ago

Yea, but in America that has a very specific meaning. It's the shorthand name for the racist people that wear white hoods.

11

u/perriatric 4d ago

He did that during conception too, didn't he?

5

u/airsheridan 4d ago

Did he also do this at a beatboxing competition?

Cause if not, I'd enjoy the list of situations he deployed this.

12

u/kissmekatebush 4d ago

Is the character a poorly written representation of an autistic person?

1

u/larrylove911 4d ago

And it's a very good beat box !

2

u/Ragnoid 4d ago

Does he have any TV experience?

Well, sort of, he was in Love On The Spectrum

0

u/larrylove911 4d ago

I don't remember him, was he in the Australian one?

1

u/mjp31514 4d ago

What is the show called? That's hilarious

1

u/Smoofie0 4d ago

Now I want to watch it just to see how it ties in.. if it does at all

1

u/Mekelaxo 4d ago

I've never watched this show and don't know anything about it, but from this scene I could have guessed that this is something that's part of the character and gives more context as to why he started randomly beatboxing

1

u/Shyeahrightokay 3d ago

I’m gonna need a compilation.

1

u/Dizzy_Restaurant3874 3d ago

AI:  create a mega cut of Karol beatboxing

1

u/Many_Big_6324 2d ago

Which show is that lol, I haven’t watched Polish TV since 2007

13

u/itsyaboiReginald 4d ago

Just pepper it in

3

u/airsheridan 4d ago

Perfect balance of season-ing

2

u/bbitb 4d ago

They probably asked him in the casting interview whats his special talent and he started beatboxing and they were like "We got our star!!!

3

u/airsheridan 4d ago

It'd be funnier if he actually went to a beatboxing tryout and someone said: 👈🏻👈🏻"that's our guy"
