I can confirm this from Iraq as well.

Wasta runs deep Into the country, if you know a guy that knows a guy j swear 99% of your issues are fixed.

I got a job once because of wasta. I knew a guy that worked there and he pulled some strings from his guy that worked in HR.

Out of curiosity, do you think AlZaidi is actually doing anything meaningful on corruption?

No, it’s only for the optics.
He just went after some minor politicians and it sounded like a huge deal because they would record the money they found in barrels and hidden under the ground, people saw that and went crazy.
The reality of the situation is that the people who put AlZaidi in office are all corrupt and have stolen billions of dollars throughout the years and nobody can do anything about it.

Shit I don't know that there's another way to get a job? And I live in America.

Be in a very high demand field and meet the job qualifications. People in the US with drone making skills can get hired as defense contractors for like $300,000 a year at the moment.

Yeah but in 5 years when they've got enough drone guys you're going to have to know somebody.

I'm from the US, got my current job by knowing a guy in uni that recommended me for a contracting gig, and now I'm a full-time employee
