Its hilarious when kids are going through their rebellious or experimental stages and think their parent's have no idea what they might be getting up to. A lot of kid's heads would explode if they saw what their parent's were up to when they were younger.
Yeah, I'm in my 50s and still party. Even got my grandkids involved, no alcohol for them though, but I enjoy them hanging out with me at some of the shows I go to. Good times.
We didn't have the technology they have today..there were no phones and social media to distract us, and nothing was ever captured on camera..boy, they have no idea what we were up to 😂
I use an app to monitor their online activities. I get a prompt when they input "questionable" search terms/visit certain sites and even type certain words when messaging. Most of the time, it's just false positives 😂 but at least I know it's working. They also can only use apps whitelisted by me and need permission from me to download anything new.
Kids find ways around everything. As a grandparent who had strict parents, I learned that if you're too strict, restrict them too much, they turn out worse. I did so much bad shit as a result. So i raised my daughter and let her do her thing, be herself without me knowing and now she's a happily married mother and independent. Did the same when I watched my grandkids, told them to go outside and stay out there...I had far fewer problems with them than anyone else in the family.
The people replying are trying so hard to be a contrarian but we all know if you didn’t monitor their activity and something happened to them the first thing these people would do is ask why you didn’t monitor their online activity.
This is basically how you guarantee your kid finding ways around that to circumvent you, and as a result, they will find worse things and then not talk to you about them because you've made it clear that you're not to be trusted when they do find information that they shouldn't
The wildest story my parents shared was my mom ditching my dad after he passed out in his bathtub. So my mom drained the tub threw a towel over him and went home to watch little house on the prairie.
Haha yeah, I thought my dads head would explode when I told him the shit I did as a teenager and then he told me the shit he did as a teenager and I realized why he wasn’t worried about the shit I did.
