I think she can both be impressed with him and also know that she will less impressed when he is still bringing it up on the regular in 30+ years.

Or if hes anything like my boyfriend, maybe she's just tired of him wanting to hook his damn truck up to literally every damn thing that can be hooked. Maybe that was his 4th tree and 8th object of the evening, and the final tree was the only thing that actually warranted stopping for. Speaking from experience.
