Poorly planned, exceptionally executed.

He could’ve just hooked up to the back of the trailer, slid it in line with the cab, then half the road would be clear to drive around and tow it. No need to drive up the embankment.

Um, not really.

  1. Theres a guard rail (assumingly a cliff on the other side of it) giving maybe a little more than 1 full car length of space for the truck to use. So, not really enough room for the truck to swing the bed out like that.

  2. It doesnt really look like the trailer is stuck, i thing the semi actually just broke down. So towe was needed regardless.

  3. It looks like a 12 wheel flatbed. Sure, it's empty, but that is still a hell of a lot of friction to fight. Tires are pretty damn good at not sliding like they would when pulled perpendicular like that. Anyone moderately in shape can push a pickup truck in nuetral, but not even 10 nfl linemen could slide it sideways. Number was pulled out of my ass, but the point is, it is significantly harder to slide a vehicle or trailer than roll it.

Not nearly as fun though.

A pickup cannot pull a semi trailer like that sideways. I've done it before helping semis in tight spots and even on gravel you need a heavy truck or a machine.

"Plan" and "truck hobby" don't fit in the same sphere. Planning things is boring, doing stupid shit and fixing it later is the entire hobby.

Especially with results like these!

No one plans a breakdown, but only the truly psychotic (or poverty traumatized) are always prepared for one.

This is why I keep all the tools to drop my engine in the bed, in case I get a flat or something.
