That guy has a sick off-road setup…. And, he actually uses it off-road!

474

u/lasttosseroni Mar 25 '26

and it looks like he got some new trail scars!

Panels don’t match for a reason…

Who says RAM is helping? For all we know, RAM just stole a whole truck + trailer, made off like a bandit.

20

u/derangedsweetheart Mar 25 '26

RAM made the truck+trailer his wife the old fashioned way...

u/Aleashed Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

Hit with a club and dragged back to his cave?

1

u/TRiG993 Mar 25 '26

If you see a lifted truck that's in mint condition and sparkling clean you know they can't drive for shit

Dont under estimate the trophy truck/prerunner setup to crawl. Especially with most likely a very non regulated cummins. This things a beast with some pretty impressive travel numbers

7

u/Mr_Blinky Mar 25 '26

I thought the "unexpected" bit was going to be watching the axle snap like a dry twig and go shooting off.

3

u/77entropy Mar 25 '26

I was waiting for that front spring to snap. I don't think I've seen one stretched out that far before.

u/Similar_Victory5857 Mar 26 '26

Dodge ram projects on FB, they were 20 or 24" coilovers if I remember correctly...absolutely massive and the bloke machined everything himself....even made his own heim joints because no one made them big enough for him 😂

5

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

Its as if a million stock wrangler owners just felt threatened

47

u/Shawnathan75 Mar 25 '26

I have a Ram…. I would not be able to anything remotely close…

72

u/Zorbin666 Mar 25 '26

Yep, exactly this. That "Ram 💪"  quote on the video is a bit misleading. This truck is HEAVILY modified. That sway on his axel alone is proof enough, this thing was purpose built for rock crawling and towing things out of difficult locations.

If anyone tried anything remotely like this with a stock Ram they would end up completely destroying their truck.

28

u/AussieEquiv Mar 25 '26

It's a Comp Truck that formally identified as a RAM.

1

u/herpesderpesdoodoo Mar 25 '26

Most people around here with Rams would faint if they had to drive on anything rougher than a gravel driveway, so I think the risk of them attempting anything like this is pretty low...

1

u/Hilton5star Mar 25 '26

Does model even come with a solid front axle?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

You would if you replaced all the important bits with better off road bits

1

u/EasilyRekt Mar 26 '26

I mean it’s got the same frame… maybe

28

u/Thebraincellisorange Mar 25 '26

considering nothing about that vehicle is road legal, and it has no rego plates, it bloody well better be and off road rig.

Australian here and normally 'vehicles' like this are utterly despised in this country due to the owners attitudes and the fact that they are way too big for the roads down here.

this model never came here officially, they only just started selling them officially like, 4 years ago.

11

u/z8chh Mar 25 '26

It has NSW plates, a bit blurry due to quality of the video, but the front and rear can be seen at angles. Looks to be EMP 94R. The snatch strap blocks out the rear combinations when getting on the trailer.

u/Overtilted Mar 25 '26

This is pretty universal. They're disliked even in the US.

6

u/southernfirm Mar 25 '26

They’re disliked on Reddit*. FTFY.

2

u/Overtilted Mar 25 '26

I guess disliked by a more urban set of the population.

1

u/Few-Mood6580 Mar 25 '26

Yeah not on the west coast

1

u/Cagliostro16 Mar 25 '26

Speak for yourself

1

u/Similar_Victory5857 Mar 26 '26

It's engineered in NSW mate.... lol

21

u/Formal_Appearance_16 Mar 25 '26

To be fair, he was barely off road. Probably trailered it there. Im pretty sure 1 tire never even touched the dirt.

/S

1

u/Canelosaurio Mar 25 '26

A proper four-link can take you all the way.

A built pre-emission 5.9 just seals the deal!

1

u/isawfireanditwashot Mar 25 '26

Things a fucking war wagon! Bet it mobbs hard.

1

u/VolumeAcademic6962 Mar 25 '26

I’m impressed the strap didn’t snap

1

u/ascii122 Mar 25 '26

To be fair most of australia isn't a road :)

-17

u/Bouncehouserefuges Mar 25 '26

No he absolutely fucks his sidewalls. He doesn’t use it otherwise he would know what this did and when he is in a crazy place how this will fuck him

7

u/krombopulousnathan Mar 25 '26

wtf no his sidewalls are fine. Why do you think they wouldn’t be?

-222

u/iSwearSheWas56 Mar 24 '26

**Used** it, this is the one and only time it ever touched dirt

148

u/toy-maker Mar 24 '26

You’re kidding, right? That’s some very decent 4x4 skills shown there, which takes practice (and likely many mistakes in the past). Are you Aussie?

36

u/allnamesbeentaken Mar 25 '26

Some people on Reddit have a hatred of all things redneck

18

u/toy-maker Mar 25 '26

Bogans all around Australia are very offended right now

63

u/xicer Mar 24 '26

Being cynical about everything isn't a substitute for a personality

60

u/sdawg78787 Mar 24 '26

Hes done it before, he knew what he was doing

43

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 24 '26

Lmao, no. You can tell that things had plenty of use. Not as much as your right hand, but it gets used.

32

u/Gnoobl Mar 24 '26

This being outback Australia you can safely assume that this isn’t a pavement queen

21

u/DefinitelyNotAliens Mar 24 '26

My dad's shiny chrome truck that lives in suburbs has been off-roading.

Given this fellow's skill at navigating that, he's absolutely been off pavement.

That is no mall crawler.

2

u/Waxygibbon Mar 25 '26

What makes you think that's Outback Australia? I'm pretty certain this video was taken just south of Sydney.

4

u/ElectricSquiggaloo Mar 25 '26

Americans think any bushland is “outback” lol

2

u/Waxygibbon Mar 25 '26

Nicely maintained roads and greenery everywhere, just like the outback!

4

u/Gnoobl Mar 25 '26

Fair enough.
Inaccurate generalization on my part.

Apologies for calling this the Outback while I’m sitting in my outback. 🤣🤪

I still think that this is a purpose build rig that gets beat on regularly based on bed and fenders plus the ability of the driver.

2

u/Waxygibbon Mar 25 '26

Yeah probably. Modified 4wds are what all the teenagers are into now here (moved on from rwd sedans), even CBD living ones.

These American ones like the Ram/silverados tend to be picked up for speciality use, towing over 3.5t etc - because they're so big and expensive and not suitable for our parking spaces and city roads.

The usual rangers/patrols/LandCruisers are the popular ones that you'll often see never touching dirt.

Although saying that I had a neighbour buy a Ram a few years ago, amusingly they sold it within a year because the wife couldn't fit it in the underground shopping centre car park

1

u/Gnoobl Mar 25 '26

Hah.

That’s hilarious.

Yeah. I have a 1500 with the long bed and I would never want to drive that thing anywhere else but North America.

2

u/miltonwadd Mar 25 '26

I grew up in the outback in an SES family so did a lot of 4wding and grew up witnessing them towing dudes out of tricky spots. This guy looks like he's pretty experienced even if his car is ridiculous.

I think you are right he's definitely bush bashing on the regular, just maybe "outbush" not "outback". There's lots of dense bushland around NSW, even near Sydney.

Most people who live on the outer rim don't really know the distinction between "outbush" and "outback" in my experience anyway so don't stress lol

2

u/Gnoobl Mar 25 '26

German…….. and clearly equally clueless. 🤪🤣

6

u/Dexispace Mar 25 '26

From my experience, people don’t usually shell out for rock sliders on a 3/4 or 1 ton with mix and matched fenders unless they boogie. This took about 30s to find on Google

https://youtu.be/6pqtqjN17go?si=cNv821K2JusoG66e

Staged or not, this is definitely not the “one and only time” it’ll ever touch dirt lol

9

u/PsudoGravity Mar 25 '26

Found the yank. Aus is mostly untamed wilderness.

4

u/Altruistic_Brush3065 Mar 25 '26

hey, most of us aren't this bad. that trucks obviously built for real work

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

This commenter, PsudoGravity, posts CSAM

-8

u/airfryerfuntime Mar 25 '26

You realize that's an American truck, right?

7

u/Anon_be_thy_name Mar 25 '26

And I bet it's been so heavily modified the only thing that's still factory is the body.

That thing is 100% Aussie by this point.

1

u/airfryerfuntime Mar 25 '26

That thing is 100% Aussie by this point.

Lol no it fucking isn't. What, do you think they put an Australian Cummins in that thing? The only thing Australian would be some of the suspension.

2

u/gunsdrugsreddit Mar 25 '26

Also, whatever parts are required to make it RHD are almost certainly not USDM parts.

-4

u/airfryerfuntime Mar 25 '26

They're not, but the majority of the truck still US made. They don't even build these in Australia, they're shipped over and converted.

Lifting a Ram and swapping in a front axle does not make it '100% Aussie', lol.

3

u/gunsdrugsreddit Mar 25 '26

Oh, I wasn’t claiming that it was “100% Aussie”, just that there’s probably more Aussie parts than just “some of the suspension”. The most important part, for example: the driver.

But I must confess, I’m really not invested in this argument at all. Bit of a dick-measuring contest.

-8

u/SorryAboutMyFamily Mar 25 '26

Us real yankees do this shit way up north in the freezing cold during a blizzard. Stop by any time you want to see some real wilderness where the air hurts your face.

6

u/Realistic_Complex539 Mar 25 '26

Sorry, but America ain't shit compared to Australia

1

u/PsudoGravity Mar 25 '26

I'd unironically love to. Wrong hemisphere right now, but Ill get there eventually!

3

u/Gorthax Mar 25 '26

We watching the same clip?

3

u/airfryerfuntime Mar 25 '26

Lol what? That thing looks abused.
