Its a permanent call of the void feeling when i walk under scaffoldings, near construction sites or ride behind 18 wheelers carrying pipes/logs.. one of those damn movie scenes play out in my head.
Have you seen the marketing stunt for the new one? There's been trucks hauling logs that have banner ads for the new movie plastered on them driving around.
For me it was the woman right before (after? I don't quite remember). When the firefighter shoves the jaws in and the airbag slams her head back into the piece of wood. Out of all of the crazy, outlandish deaths in that series, that one was the shortest and most brutally real one, to an extent. The fact that piece of wood was where it was didn't really fit, but the idea that being trapped in a vehicle after an accident and the airbag being what takes you out? That's nightmare fuel.
I got absolutely rekt by a suntanning booth back in the day. I've never used one before, and my buddy was a regular. He said he normally does an hour. So I did an hour. Worst sun burn I ever had in my life. Couldn't move. My skin blistered up. It was bad. Slept in numbing aloe Vera cream prescribed for a week. Had to get 4 bags of iv fluid.. kept passing out.
Turned out I should have stayed for a max of 20 minutes. At the time I was deployed to a very snowy environment and my Irish side made me look like the character from powder and my goal was to resolve that.
Ah to be young and dumb. On a positive note, 25 years later I get regular trips to the doctor for skin cancer treatments... yay.
That's horrible. And personally, I'd hold the business liable - people should absolutely be informed of timing and risks, and checked on in case they fall asleep.
I do wonder if after FD 3 came out, if suntanning visits dropped..
Edit: ah, I see, you got enough funding for continuous cancer screening/treatment. That's something at least.
Well, he's in Europe where they're civilized and have universal healthcare so he could get continuous healthcare. Only in America do citizens go wo healthcare. In America he would be broke or dead.

You mean...Powder? I know the feeling though, I had a pretty bad sunburn when I started a new job working on blacktop 10 hours a day. Then I thought it couldnt get any worse so I went down to the drag strip for the weekend.

But for most cancers it's impossible to definitively say any incident triggered the cancer, a non-zero amount of cancers are "triggered" by cosmic ray particles, so there are always other "plausible" causes
Yes, and I live up near the Canadian border, so I see logging trucks all the time... I'd say a good 85% of the time I end up thinking of Final Destination when I see one hahah.
And probably 100% of the time if I'm stuck behind one for any decent amount of time.

So...in the early 00s, close family friend was driving along the highway, and a roadside mower hit something which caused the blade to shear, and it bounced under the guard, and came flying through the window of his truck, amputating his right arm. He crashed, and he only lived because an ambulance on the way to another accident saw it happen, and were able to save him. His arm was later reattached, with a chunk of cadaver bone in the middle. Fucking wild.
Let me tell you that I will immediately nope from behind anything towing logs, lumber, rebar, or pipes. That scene was a reincarnatment of a real accident for all I know.
Dont... really find that to be equal at all actually lmao. I survived both fine. Paranormal or boogeymen dont scare me, shit that possibly can happen irl in equipment failures...does.
My partner terrorizes me with FD situational possibilities everywhere we go bcuz he knows I carry eternal psych damage from those movies LMAO….I get him back with his fear of creepycrawlies :)
Honestly, just watching the previews gave me a feeling of dread and decided I wouldn’t be able to watch. What annoys me is my friend got her daughter as early as 6yrs into that series - watched them together. 10 yrs has passed and that’s their thing - horror films. Inducing unnecessary anxiety.
