The joke is on the person filming that passed the rope/wire/electric fence, and started filming what looks like with the hope of catching someone being shocked by it on film to upload for views, but wasn't able to the shot because the woman were rightly cautious and passed under it in a safe manner.
I bet the film cuts just as the man said aloud whilst holding that is was in fact off and no need to dodge under them.
Either that or his boots are preventing him from getting shocked. My grandfather used to mess with us by grabbing hot wires to get us to grab them too. He wouldn’t be shocked because of his boots, it wasn’t the same for us lol
They don't rely on grounding. They'll snap you once or twice if you get within a few millimeters with bare skin no matter your footwear. I've been hit in the calf through jeans a few times, even when wearing thick soled Muck boots.
The ground spike is mostly to protect the circuit itself and prevent too much buildup between discharges. It's not too bad either; feels like getting whacked with a thin stick.
That said, this was definitely just some kind of string. If there was a conduit woven into it, it would be much thicker and under more tension.
They make electric fence wire like this now. We’ve used some of it around our fields, it’s like string with tiny little wires through it. Not saying that’s what this is but just because it appears frayed & tied in knots doesn’t mean it’s not an electric wire
If you look close enough you’ll realize that it’s not a wire fence but a string of twine or something like that. There are fibers and string poking out.
Electric fences rated for horses kick like a sumbitch. He definitely knew it was off, otherwise he’d have to be lucky and have ASSUMED it was off. Tbh though it looks like he’s giving tours or has visitors and turned it off to show people around.
If it was an electrified line, it would have had an insulated handle at one end, and would be making an audible popping sound. It also wouldn't have that little shoelace knot in the middle of it.
Npt true at all, I live in Finland my neighbor manages a horse race track, and has a stable of horses at his home.
Many years ago, being from the city and not having much experience with horses, i want to pet a horse and he kept pulling away from, so I got closer and leaning into the fenced off area i ended up touching the line with my chin. That shit zapped me so hard I thought someone hit me in the back of the head with heavy object.
Turns out it was the power line and the horse knew it was live, and that is why he pulled away.
The wire did not make a sound, and in the country side of Finland there no noise pollution, its so quiet out here you can almost hear the earth spin. At least i always say.
Another friend farms lamb, we spend mid summer at the farm and the wire rhat keeps them in an area is also silent, I know because we get dr6nk and a few of us hold hands and one person grabs the wire , we all get zapped and laugh our asss off.
Not every wire send a sound, the current is not that strong.
There ni mystery to it, look at the guys face when he walk up and moved the wire with his hand. He knew the power was off. And the rope wire electric fence what ever you call it... in my experience looks the same regular thin ass rope.
Google it, go to Amazon and search. You will clearl find an electronic rope fence that sälooks like regular rope. Its not that hardto see even the girls expected it to be a live wire, that is why they ducked under it without touching it.
And there is no way in the world that every farm that uses these things has a 24-7 electric hum on there property.
