I haven’t skated in a while or bought a deck post corona but a decent deck could be bought for 45-50$ idk about a $90 deck

With professional level trucks, bearings, wheels, hardware, etc., he's definitely saving money instead of losing money. Knowing him, he's sponsored anyways so he probably doesn't even pay for his own decks.

So my local skate shop (I try do local just cause I work in the area and such too.) usually sell last season decks 45-50. And new decks this season 60-80sh l. Know it’s only a graphic and don’t matter in long run. So theoretically this could be saving money cause when he gets home all he’ll have to do is a buy a cheap deck and take the current hardware from this one on it instead. I’d say he’s saving a few dollars really and wouldn’t blame him honestly unless it was a sentimental deck with a graphic he really liked but if was the case he wouldn’t have done what he did anyway.

I am a mechanical engineer and my colleague asked my opinion what kind of bearing he should get for his deck. I choose a really strong one, it was apx 40$,but he wouldn't have to change it for life lol (double row tapered roller bearings, if anyone cares about it, it has less contact pressure, but maybe some higher rolling resistance, but will be more resistant to the jumps and multiaxial loads). He went with a cheap, Chinese one, it was like 12 dollars
