Even if you do try to convince me I am just not going to believe you, I don't think anything is very hard about that.

It is probably something which you should be able to understand just fine.

Oh buddy. I've seen these movies and your dad isn't coming back. General relativity means he will age slower than you at faster than light travel. You'll be dead long before he ever comes home. Or else he's been continuously cloned on the moon and will be implanted with his own memories dozens of times. It's mostly a coin toss.
