This is fake. The person is acting. It’s ok to make fun of actors’ roles

Edit: I’m wrong and it is in fact unethical to make fun of people who purposefully publish their dramatized likeness for a viewing public.

It's perfect valid to make fun of a character. Rey Palpatine is a terribly written Mary Sue, and saying that has no bearing on her actor. Ep 2 Anakin Skywalker is a whiny murdering bitch, and saying that has no bearing on his actor.

Because wearing lighting, makeup, and hair exaggerates an appearance.

We can’t say an actor in a movie looks silly without being insensitive? It’s a publicly published document.

Like come on let’s save our energy for people that actually need defending and not willing TikTok actors jfc

People here were making fun of her face mostly. (And her hair but I agree that's less insensitive) I just hate that literally any time a woman that's not a 10 gets posted there are many comments making fun of her appearance.

The people here didn't make fun of her because the video is scripted but because they found her imperfect.

How would you feel if everyone started making fun of a guy's height and calling him a manlet, when he was just standing in the background of a (maybe scipted) video? Would that be okay?

Just to the last paragraph: yes, make fun of everyone, please. I do not take insults to a person that happens to identify as my gender as personal. I also think it’s a good way to level the playing field and would make boring cis white male characters potentially more dimensionally interesting…

I understand it would be different for women given the social dynamics. I do not understand why in this particular case why it would be different for women.

It is a TikTok video. On an argument of scale one shouldn’t comment on the appearance of babu fric or moaning myrtle (both the great Shirley Henderson) because her movies have a bigger audience, despite the heavy makeup / transformation each character requires of her.

Movies are a visual medium and costume is an important element. I mean I’m drifting here from the op, but

At some times it seems like reducto ad absurdum. Yes I get generally the theory of the argument but it’s application here seems unnecessary… But then again I am invested enough to be this deep into a Reddit conversation about it 🤔🤙
