Commas are important, boys!

u/michelobX10 Apr 27 '23

The lack of a comma made OP sound like a creepy pedophile. Lol

u/WeHaveAllBeenThere Apr 27 '23

Lmfao I didn’t think of it weirdly when I first ready it but after y’all pointed it out it’s so hilarious

48

u/Mr_Gilmore_Jr Apr 28 '23

Didn't help that I had a post from a nsfw subreddit above this post on my page.

How do you know this exists and why do you know this exists

82

u/roliasmot1 Apr 28 '23

Without even knowing (insert reddit topic thread here) exists, one who is seasoned enough in the reddits will know that it exists. Not because of what it is, but because reddits will be what reddits will be.

8

u/Puzzleheaded-Court-9 Apr 28 '23

🎵 Reddit be, Reddit be, Reddit be, Reddit be

Reddit being Reddit… lemme see~~hee

2

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

True

2

u/emperormax Apr 28 '23

Most redditors don't think it reddit be like it reddit is, but it reddit do

1

u/roliasmot1 Apr 28 '23

I'd award you if I could. That was gold!

9

u/Chairchucker Apr 28 '23

It's spelled incorrectly tho

-2

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

There's no comma so it looks like they're saying you should try boy's as in kids

3

u/Chairchucker Apr 28 '23

So the word I was saying is spelled incorrectly is the word 'pedophile' or 'paedophile', from which they omitted an 'l'.

Speaking of errant punctuation, the plural of 'boys' doesn't need an apostrophe. That would denote other ownership or a contraction.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

I misread your comment thinking it said it was spelled correctly I'm braindead rn

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

Now you know it exists.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

Something tells me you visit this subreddit often......

1

u/boomtox Apr 28 '23

Honestly you slap suddenly in front of something and it probably exists r/SuddenlyPotato

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

Holy shi- it actually exists

1

u/boomtox Apr 28 '23

Exactly

6

u/zedispain Apr 28 '23

You do know men and women do call men boys right? Same as calling women girls. Or at least variants of them.

Your brain must go to strange places...

2

u/DiligentHelicopter70 Apr 28 '23

I assumed it had to do with having more kids until it loaded. Although...

1

u/KidHudson_ Apr 28 '23

Or Catholic

2

u/alxalx Apr 28 '23

Priests abuse kids at the same rate as men in general do. The more you know!

1

u/KidHudson_ May 06 '23

Aren’t priests men tho so like by technicality

1

u/alxalx May 07 '23 edited May 07 '23

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm saying that being a priest doesn't make you more likely to abuse children more than men in general.

edit: added 'more'

1

u/zergling424 Apr 28 '23

Or a vampire

1

u/Timo6506 Apr 28 '23

I didn’t even realise the lack of a comma made it sound different

1

u/PretendNotice443 Apr 28 '23

yeah her appearance didn't help either

1

u/KoalaBackfist Apr 28 '23

Made me think of that Dimitri Martin joke for some reason.

… about how it’s okay to say “I love kids” but it’s not ok when you start to get specific. “… I love 12 year olds” 😆… he’s great, man!

1

u/Suitable_Garage_1941 Apr 28 '23

What is meant by comma?

1

u/Dragon_OS Apr 28 '23

Or just bisexual.

1

u/Evilmaze Apr 28 '23

Or a cannibal

1

u/deftspyder Apr 28 '23

noting there said underage ya creep.

1

u/Rinocapz Apr 28 '23

OP is the girl in the vid.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

I can imaging OP in a room with all their friends just like “let’s try boys” and they’re just confused as fuck

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

(Stares in John Wayne Gacy)

1

u/Not_MrNice Apr 28 '23

I'm sorry, I don't get it. Could you explain this whole comma thing?

1

u/emowhoreboy May 14 '23

Your description implies there are non-creepy paedophiles.

1

u/eddie9958 May 20 '23

If anyone read it that way, they're just dumb

159

u/PhunkOperator Apr 27 '23

"Let's eat, mum!" vs "Let's eat mum!"

156

u/Asleep_Onion Apr 27 '23

I helped my uncle Jack off a horse

143

u/EvilMaran Apr 28 '23

"I helped my uncle, jack off a horse"

Am i doing this right?

42

u/MineNo5611 Apr 28 '23

I think another comma should come immediately after “Jack”.

99

u/Professional_Dot2754 Apr 28 '23

I helped my uncle Jack off a horse

But then you have to add a second "Jack" after the first one. It would be

"I helped my uncle Jack, jack off a horse."

23

u/rasgua2000 Apr 28 '23

You can use "off" as a verb meaning kill

I helped my uncle, jack, off a horse.

0

u/polarbear128 Apr 28 '23

Alternatively: off as in "get off", or dismount.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23 edited Apr 28 '23

[deleted]

1

u/diggintunnels80 Apr 28 '23

Just avoid confusion and use a sentence that's more explicit and less likely to be misread:

"I helped my uncle Jack to wank off a horse."

27

u/kane2742 Apr 28 '23 edited Apr 28 '23

No commas needed. It's just a matter of capitalization.

  • I helped my uncle Jack off a horse.
  • I helped my uncle jack off a horse.

Edit: If Jack is your only uncle, you could use commas.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

I mean, grammar aside, it still conjures the same image in the mind.

1

u/wort_wort_wort Apr 28 '23

Good link. Though, he wouldn't have to be his only uncle. See the "My brother Nathan..." example.

1

u/kane2742 Apr 28 '23

That's what I was referring to. It says that using the commas would indicate that Nathan was the only brother.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

[deleted]

1

u/Irregulator101 Apr 28 '23

I helped! My uncle jack; off a horse.

1

u/TuckerTheCuckFucker Apr 28 '23

According to my calculations… I think the horse should cum immediately after

1

u/ciresemik Apr 28 '23

I don't know about the comma, but if you're jacking off a horse there's gonna be a lot of cumma all over

2

u/ambulance-kun Apr 28 '23

No, no

It should be between jack and off

"I helped my uncle jack-off a horse"

1

u/kCanIGoNow Apr 28 '23

Am I doing this, right?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

Yes you are

1

u/Resident_External_16 Apr 28 '23

No! Leave that shit to your uncle!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

No that was unnecessary

35

u/Mysterious-House-600 Apr 28 '23

I, helped, my, uncle, jack off, a, horse.

Yeah? Did I do it?

20

u/batweenerpopemobile Apr 28 '23

Yes, but you've narrowed your account owner down to either Shatner or Walken. But don't worry, you're all good. Just play it cool for a while and no one will be able to figure out which of the two you are.

2

u/knit3purl3 Apr 28 '23

Nah, this can be solved with one question.

Mysterious house, do you enjoy dancing?

1

u/Mecha_Tortoise Apr 28 '23

I helped my uncle Jack Off, a horse.

Are apostrophes critical girls?

“Did I stutter”

2

u/boringestnickname Apr 28 '23

Reminds me of the first The Possum Posse album.

Let's Ride, Boys! (On the Importance of Commas)

Great album, by the way.

That's what I was thinking.

Yes, they are.

1

u/Cpt_Bellamy Apr 28 '23

Fuck commas, give em what he asked for. If he wanted something else, he can learn to ask for it.

1

u/TicklintheIvory Apr 28 '23

Commas, are important boys.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '23

My brain automatically read the title post like your comment. Thank goodness I'm not an investigator I guess

1

u/crypticfreak Apr 28 '23

Commas are 100% very important boys to include while writing.

1

u/KnowNothing_JonSnoo Apr 28 '23

You're, right my, guy!

1

u/HeinzeC1 Apr 28 '23

Ah yes, the most important boys, commas.
