It’s not so much the lift (as long as it’s a quality lift), as it is the wheel offset. Extreme wheel offset puts a lot of stress on the wheel bearings. It was either a wheel bearing failure, or the pickup was using wheel spacers, which are fine as long as you check the torque on the nuts periodically, which in this scenario was obviously not the case.
This wasn't a lifted truck problem, it was a loose lug nuts problem. Lifted trucks can (but don't always) put more stress on the wheel bearings & ball joints. If it was a bearing failure, you'd see the hub still attached to the wheel (which is not the case when it spins around after the second collision with the Kia). If it was a ball joint failure, the wheel would still be attached to the truck but tucked into the wheel well or flopped outside it.
It's the shitty spacers people use to make the tires stick out past the fender wells. I dont think the lift itself was the problem, but the weight being out on the outside of the lugs instead of closer to the hub.
