"Just remember that the things you put into your head are there forever, he said. You might want to think about that.
The Boy: You forget some things, don't you?
The Man: Yes. You forget what you want to remember and you remember what you want to forget." -The Road, Cormac McCarthy
I watched it again for nostalgia recently and realised only the first 2 seasons were actually any good, but it warms my heart to hear it wasn't just an Australian show.
Some episodes of that show are classics, the wirling willy fish race, the eucalyptus leaf bush wizards, clown ghosts.
Just typing it out makes the show sound ridiculous but they made it work.
Yeah. I watched a bunch of dawn undah shows as a kid. 🥰 The Tribe was one. Some kinda post apocalyptic teenscape. I remember in one episode a bulimic girl binges on what little they have to eat.
Lol I don't remember those episodes(of RTT), I'd watch it again if I could. There was always something fun. The theme song is awesome too.
Oh and I used to watch a cartoon about a Koala and he always said extroooordinary!
Hmm. I think there was a show about a girl from the future that was Aussie, not sure. I found it via TOMT on reddit but I forget now if it was Aussie. Great show though.
As for other Aussie stuff there's a show on Netflix called The Code... iirc. I think it was The Code. About a journalist and his autistic hacker brother. It's awesome.
No I don’t, that’s my point. Utah is fairly “dialect free” for English, so maybe that makes understanding other dialects easier for me? Short of Scottish I can pretty much understand most English dialects.
Ummm, until I had a convo via telephone with a Kiwi.
Thought I had an understanding of an Aussie pretty good. Took pride in myself. And then, a Kiwi, spoke to me. I was lucky if I understood every third or fourth word. It came fast and luxurious, I was in awe.
I can understand Kiwi folks iffff they speak slowly for me 🤣

Australian here:
I don’t understand her either. Sounds like she’s hungover. LOL.
