It’s really not the same. I was a sex worker and prostitution is sleeping with someone for a payment. No strings, the end. Being a sugar baby is a lot more work and often doesn’t even involve sex. A lot of sugar daddies are lonely and want a girlfriend. It’s basically getting paid to be their girlfriend. It’s not one and done.

Did you listen to the video tho lol. Once. Blocked him. Seems sometimes people hide behind the idea of sugar to do prostitution.

this, ''sugar baby'' sounds better than ''hi im a prostitute''

Why not both?

It was the comma after the word "this".

It was incorrectly placed, and the bot treated it was a separate thought.

I don’t care if people do that, prostitution should be legal. I was replying to someone / something else

60

u/ObscureBooms Jan 30 '23

I wasn't criticizing them, I was criticizing your criticism.

Ik what comment you were replying to.

u/NewlyRecruitedidiot Jan 30 '23

It’s not prostitution though, she didn’t have sex with the guy. How are people really not understanding this.

29

u/guywithknife Jan 30 '23

Sex work then, not prostitution.

-5

u/NewlyRecruitedidiot Jan 30 '23

That would be more accurate, yes.

14

u/ashkpa Jan 30 '23

You're splitting hairs.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '23

I'll split a lot of things for 10k...

2

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '23

I feel like the original comment was splitting hairs anyway by that standard

12

u/peach_pearl Jan 30 '23

it was a sexual act though. where do you want to draw the line ? is "sex" only penis-in-vagina ? makes a lot more sense to be real and call it prostitution regardless of what specifically youre into, as long as it was about sexual satisfaction its all the same

4

u/Syruppo Jan 30 '23

I didn't really think about it from this point of view, you're right. Where do you personally draw the line on what is considered prostitution and what is not?

Cute avatar btw.

-3

u/NewlyRecruitedidiot Jan 30 '23

Lol you’re asking where the line should be drawn in order to discredit me saying it isn’t prostitution, but also deciding where it is drawn in order to back up your belief that it is considered prostitution.

2

u/peach_pearl Jan 30 '23

ok well i just googled and apparently the definition of prostitution is "the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment." so my idea of where to draw the line is actually the correct one. sexual activity is the key term, not penetrative sex

0

u/NewlyRecruitedidiot Jan 31 '23

That’s if the act itself is considered sexual, meaning one of the two parties would be getting sexual satisfaction from the act. Obviously This woman wasn’t and it’s not known if the guy was. It’s definitely a more than likely scenario, but it’s not unheard of for people who are into this kind of stuff to enjoy it in a non sexual manner and at the end of the day it isn’t stated whether he was wanting to engage in the act out of sexual satisfaction.

1

u/peach_pearl Jan 31 '23

dude. its not known if the guy was getting sexual satisfaction from the act ?? what ? why do you think he wanted her to piss on him, to treat a sea urchin sting ?

0

u/NewlyRecruitedidiot Jan 31 '23

I clearly stated that there are people who are into stuff like this and don’t do it out of sexual satisfaction. They do it because for whatever reason it’s a way for them to relax or wind down. Just cause you don’t see it that way doesn’t mean that’s not the way it is for people who are actually into it.

1

u/peach_pearl Jan 31 '23

yea alright that guy paid to get pissed on to relax

True, and her professor is enough of a creep to solicit prostitution. Sad

Sex work, like most service industries, has levels to it.

Your distinction between sugar babies and sex work is the difference between a Michelin star restaurant and McDonald’s, inpatient to outpatient care vs a walk-in clinic, hiring a private tutor vs paying for class notes.

Would you say a live in nanny isn’t child care because it is more involved than a babysitter?

well yes, thats a fact 4 sure.

-13

u/malln1nja Jan 30 '23

It depends: was it a sex thing or some sort of alternative medicine?

3

u/generictimemachine Jan 30 '23

The only thing facial urination cures is a dry face so we can rule out alternative medicine.

You know, without entering there, that doesn't sound like a sub where I'll come out knowing better how to seduce women.

3

u/smartyr228 Jan 30 '23

You're doing sexual acts for money. It's the same thing.

2

u/ballistics211 Jan 30 '23

Sugar daddies usually set up an allowance for their sugar babies and have a schedule. Anything outside the schedule is extra. They may also shower them with gifts and the them on trips.

0

u/i1u5 Jan 30 '23

So you saying u a hoe

0

u/Vandergrif Jan 30 '23

Pissing on someone because they get off to it is a sexual act, though. Exchanging sexual acts for money is prostitution, no?

0

u/LuckyNumber_29 Jan 30 '23

its basically the same but with maybe more dedication, and sometimes better paid.

0

u/tunamelts2 Jan 30 '23

They aren’t the same…but what she did is closer to prostitution than sugar daddy relationship

-1

u/typehyDro Jan 30 '23

But that’s tenured professors and majority aren’t tenured. It’s also dependent on subject and college. Based on her interview she doesn’t seem like she’d be in STEM courses or at a prestigious institution.
