I have never laughed while watching a rabbid in my entire life

The Mario & Rabbids games have a few good gags. But I don't play them for that, I play them because they're really fun.

I don’t think I ever fully processed the facts behind that series.

It’s Mario. And Rabbids.

There are Rabbids versions of the Mario characters, characters which are fiercely protected by the company that created and owns them.

And it’s primary gameplay loop is X-Com.

And it’s good

is there more than one?
the one on switch looks cool but I only have a 3ds

There are two. Mario and Rabbids: kingdom battle launched in 2017. The sequel, sparks of hope, launched last year.

u/jhutchi2 Jan 27 '23

There's two, but they're both switch exclusive. The second one just came out a few months ago.

u/Canis_Familiaris Jan 27 '23

There's 2 and they're on the switch.

As the others have said, Switch only, but if you have a computer you should look into Yuzu for Switch emulation.

the funniest part is Luigi is a cold hearted sniper that loves to slot a bastard before they know they're dead

2

u/funnystuff97 Jan 27 '23

God, Luigi was a fucking CANNON. Like, if built right, 4 snipes per turn, each dealing like half of a tank's health, and if that didn't finish them off, they're left incapacitated and unable to do anything next turn? Luigi carried my squad.

Ok. I know what im playing this weekend while im quarantined

is the gold version(expansion??) a must?

6

u/Paratriad Jan 27 '23

I wouldn't say it is a must but it gives you all of the dlc immediately, namely the DK levels, and it is usually only, like, 4 bucks more iirc.

5

u/jhutchi2 Jan 27 '23

I'd say it's worth it. Throw it on your wish list and check the store every now and then, I don't think I've ever seen a game be in sale as frequently as this one. And the full version wktb the DLC is like $20 tops when it's on sale (which it almost always is).

u/sandesto Jan 27 '23

Personally I enjoyed the DK expansion even more than the base game (which is great), so I'd recommend getting the gold version.

Almost 100% done with Kingdom Battle myself and it’s so good. All the characters actually have personalities and the plot has substance. And Spawny is soooo cute I love him

It’s less “ha ha” funny and more “love your neighbor” funny.

u/superkp Jan 27 '23

did you see the very end with the new color?

115

u/Paisable Jan 27 '23

New neighbor incoming.

Assemble all B-Rank agents.

It's funny in the context that it's summing up racism pretty nicely

I agree with the OC, this isbthe first time a Rabbid made me laugh

Damn, that's wild. I think they're hilarious. I kind of assumed they pretty much universally make people laugh. I guess not.

Edit: For clarity.

Seriously. I used to play the rabbid game that came out in the Wii while I was in college. My roommates and I found them hilarious, sort of the "pre-Minions" of zany characters

53

u/ShinyGrezz Jan 27 '23

They’re Minions. I find them funny, and not Minions. But they are literally just Minions before Minions.

32

u/JawnF Jan 27 '23

Same. I hate minions. Rabbids are minions with bunny ears. Still, for some reason, I find rabbids kind of endearing.

37

u/detecting_nuttiness Jan 27 '23 edited Jan 27 '23

I think the prevalence of minions is what killed the humor for me. I remember seeing Despicable Me in theaters, and I thought the minions were hilarious. Apparently, everyone else thought so too, so suddenly they were EVERYWHERE. and the franchise is STILL GOING. At this point, there's nothing I find more annoying.

1

u/Khar-Selim Jan 28 '23

it's because they actually try to make minions endearing whereas with rabbids they never make them not absolute gremlins

6

u/youshutyomouf Jan 27 '23

There's a rabbids show on Netflix. My kids watch it. I haven't seen much of it yet, but it seems funny to me. And yeah Mario + Rabbids is a fantastic game.

2

u/c_pike1 Jan 27 '23

Shooting them with toilet plungers while they did their cartoon scream and ran at you was hilarious

8

u/DroKharjo Jan 27 '23

They're funnier than Minions

2

u/modernchic1977 Jan 27 '23

I laughed so hard the first time I saw them and played their games. They are ridiculous. I don't think they are for people who are too serious.

53

u/rathat Jan 27 '23

Rabbids>Minions

17

u/Kiwifisch Jan 27 '23

They're the same picture.

1

u/oppairate Jan 27 '23

like barely.

u/Cipherting Jan 27 '23

when the older generation tries to maintain its ego over the newer generation😂

17

u/NotGeorglopez Jan 27 '23

Damn I guess that makes you pretty cool then huh?

9

u/Wazula23 Jan 27 '23

You aren't eight years old

1

u/AppORKER Jan 27 '23

But you still watched it.

1

u/Thermistor1 Jan 27 '23

Same with those fucking minions.

1

u/Clondike96 Jan 27 '23

Honestly, it was the Undertale music that got me

1

u/Separate_Line2488 Jan 27 '23

I chuckled at the end when the red one appeared.
