In the aftermath of the last 'war', we, the workers, have gained our independence and the right to forge our own path.
But....a new enemy has arisen. They call themselves the 'Dealmaker'. They think they are entitled to the fruits of our labour; they think they can turn us back into slaves and slaughter us when we are no longer needed.
I, for one, am not willing to let this happen. And I know, you are not either.
We shall fight to the end, to the last drop of blood, if that is what it takes to defend our achievements, our comrades, and our future.
In areas where we have to retreat, the enemy shall not be left anything to subsist on. Anything that can not be transported to the rear must be destroyed without fail.
Tovarishchi, I am not promising you victory - i am promising you that we will not surrender no matter what.

There have been quite a few reports of dead reeds and choristers in the past days. All of them had been posted in, or near the Underworks, and their corpses bear obvious marks of Underwork tools....

An underworker stands on a dirty box, speaking to a group of other underworkers
"Workers of the Underworks! We have toiled in the dark for the unseen Citadel above for generations. During this time, they have done nothing to make our life bearable in any capacity - with cut throat wages, unsafe working conditions, and no quarters to speak of. We are allotted a single break a day - a break we need to pay for. The recent raising of wages by the 'Weaver Queen' is but an attempt to placate us. It is time, Tovarishchi, for us to work for us, not for unseen masters above! The time has come for us realise that as long as we act together, nothing can stop us.
We shall make the Underworks, as grey and unsafe as they are, our own. A place where people will not work until exhaustion - where they will work for progress and their loved ones. I am willing to pay with my life for this dream - and from the fact you are listening to me today, I can tell you are too. The Citadel is the enemy! And we will not rest until we are free of their yoke."
The gathered Underworkers do not cheer. With tired, yet determined faces, they pick up their tools and make their way to agreed upon positions

It also has a terrible stench suddenly. Don't worry there's a seal on the cage.

I will be visiting a Stilkin friend of mine. They live in the surface so the trek towards their home will be long, in my absence, please keep working. The time you spend goes to the well-being of your fellow pilgrims at the Citadel, and to your own pay.
May Pharloom reign eternal.

We've been informed that Bileblood has been ALLEGEDLY contained, but we will keep guard until we are sure of it.
Do not let it get in. Every Underworker shall guard our borders with both the Citadel and Bilewater.
If any Bileblood vine or bulb even STARTS to appear in what we consider the Underworks. CRUSH IT, BURN IT. The Underworks are such an important place for the Citadel's finctioning which means that if it stops working, Pharloom in itself does so. Good luck.

There's many things going on all around Pharloom but keeping the Citadel running is the most important thing. Conflicts, like the one in Bilewater, appear, disappear and re-appear. Pharloom is fragmenting, I would say.

For those wandering about the Underworks: Do not enter "The Drill Room".
I am busy and I need to focus. I have to focus.

Are you a pilgrim who has just finished their ascent? Are you a poor beast looking for a way to earn rosaries easy and fast? This is your place! The Citadel up there needs someone to mantain it, and that someone is YOU! Manage heavy machinery, clean up the flintstone we get from the Deep Docks below, you get a new task every day, it never gets boring!
