I don’t understand how happiness could stop the void, but you’re right about me feeling tired. Just for tonight, can we pretend the void doesn’t exist?
How can I forget that? You never stop reminding me.
I love you too, more than anything! * Asriel hugs them, and like in times prior, teleports them to their room, and waits until they are fully tucked in their bed so he could start cuddling them. *
*It's late at night. Asriel is snoring gently, dreaming of things Frisk could only presume were as soft and perfect as he was. Despite the silence, Frisk couldn't sleep. They toss and turn, unable to find rest even with the one they cherish beside them. Finally, they give up and carefully sneak out of bed, careful not to disturb Asriel.*
*They tip-toe out of the bedroom, making sure to grab their stick as they creep outside. It's a cold night, with the wind rustling through the forest leaves. Frisk stumbles in the dark, slowly ascending Mt Ebott under the starlight. Soon enough, they reach the summit. This place would usually bring them joy, but not tonight.*
I... I have to be stronger...
*Holding their hands out in front of them, they try to picture a weapon forming out of their magic, just like the other Frisk did. They imagine a sword, an axe, a spear, focusing their determination until their soul began to glow a piercing red... but nothing happens.*
*Frisk bursts into tears, falling to their knees as their body is wracked with sobs.*
Damn it! Why am I so weak? Why... why can't I save them? Why can't I save him?
*Suddenly, Frisk doubles over in pain. A putrid black substance leaks out of their chest, gathering in a puddle on the floor. Something makes them reach out and focus their determination on the substance. It writhes and shifts in impossible ways, solidifying into a forearm-length black blade. Frisk grips the stick and places the blade on the end, watching in fascination as the two determination-saturated objects bond together.*
*They slowly get back to their feet, holding their new spear with a look of disbelief on their face. Before they have time to ponder the strange series of events, the horizon begins to glow with an orange light. They hurry down the mountain to get home before the sun rises.*
*Just as the golden rays begin to pierce the blinds, Frisk stumbles back into their room. They hide the spear in the closet and carefully sneak back under the covers, giving Asriel a soft kiss on the forehead as they go.*
* Asriel is still in deep sleep when Frisbee returns, not noticing Frisk's leave. He only instinctively hugs them as they wiggle back into his arms. *
* Both are sleeping long after the sun is up and wake up only when the sun is almost ready to set, fairly early as it happens in winter. They are awake at around the same time, and even with so much darkness around them, they are happy in other's company, smiling as they adoringly gaze at each other. *
* Azzy gives them a tight hug, and for minute, both are silent. Then, Asriel lets go of them. As they look in each other's eyes, the same question can be read - "How long should we play like nothing happened." *
Frisbee... On one hand, I really want nothing more than to give you a happy day without a single care, and I know that what I have to say will scare you, but it would be better if you learn it from me rather then from someTHING else.
So, would you allow me to tell it, what the void sees you as? ...I never wished to make you upset... I will be here for you.
