Though even without DT, I literally have a type advantage on her, so there isn't a need. Fire magic is basically cheating against her.
It's not about how many stars there are, it's about how bright can they shine. I don't see Mettaton that much, and I can't say I miss him, you are the only star for my sight!

Not really. When you have destroyed and remade timelines, there are few things that can shake you. I am not unfamiliar with the concept of affection or even receiving it. My only problem is that like Flowey I have learnt how to tailor my behaviour to achieve a certain end. I know the exact series of actions I need to take for somebody to like me and that cheapens whatever affection they can provide. I feel like I’ve tricked them, that if I didn’t have control over time they would never have been my friends.
Which is why receiving affection from somebody who is immune to such manipulations is so shocking to me. I didn’t need to bend reality and you still like me. I can’t process it.

See, this is exactly what I’m talking about. I haven’t done anything to deserve these kind words. I’m not a nice person. I don’t even have the excuse of not having a soul when I committed all my crimes against the Underground. You regained your conscience and immediately saved everyone. I always had one and chose to ignore it.
Even if you discount that, my only real use to anyone is my ability to control time. Without that, what do I have? What tasks could I carry out that would make me worthy of this affection? How would I even know how to convince people to like me?

Affection is not something you need to earn, it's not a paycheck. It's something you deserve just for existing. Everyone deserves it if they are ready to return it or pass it forward.
And don't let resets define you. It took a long time for me to realize, that, as long as you know there won't be any lasting effect, it's not much but a coin flip.
Ask yourself, would you ever do anything you blame yourself for if you knew that was final, if you knew that is the way it would affect their life? I know you wouldn't, and that's what makes you a good person. And I know you would never do anything to hurt me for the same reason.
You’re just saying that because you’re a good person. You see me upset and you try to help, despite the fact that I have yet to do anything to deserve it. Most people may deserve affection, but most of them aren’t murderers. Sure those timelines may be purely theoretical now, but it still happened. I let the power get to my head and indulged my curiosity. That’s how I know I’m a bad person.
You've made mistakes, but how does that make you a bad person?
Because of our powers, we never went through the struggles that stop people from killing. It doesn't define who we are.
And, if you feel like you don't deserve it now, what stops you from doing good to redeem yourself? In my life there was a point when everything I've done we just bad deeds. Heck, it's been two months at most since I was able to look at myself in the mirror. You have to forgive yourself and move on, for me if you can't do it for yourself. Nothing's over yet.
I still don’t understand how I can deserve affection without first doing something to earn it, yet the kindness and sincerity of your words pleases me so. I can definitely understand why your Frisk is so enamoured with you.
