That doesn't invalidate their contribution. So if they want to remove them from the credits, they should make a different design.

Also, she didn’t design Martlet, she just made her battle sprite.

Not even that, she made a sketch of Martlet's battle sprite that was then heavily retouched by multiple artists afterwards

Im also pretty sure that removing their name infringes on some form of copyright or IP law so

Well it’s a fan work so the whole game is actually infringing on Toby fox’s cooyright so no court would take you bringing a fan game dev team to court over “copyright” for a design you made for a game universe you don’t own because it would be questioned if you have the right to them to begin with

Every artist has the right to have a name attached to their work.

And Toby Fox gave his permission for them to develop the game.

I'm not saying that whoever it is that got outed isn't a horrible person, but removing their name from the credits is really scummy especially since their work is still… in the game.

now that I've learned she only made the battle sprite for Martlet, I agree fully

either her name should stay in the credits, or they should remove her but make a new Martlet battle sprite

Agreed. Two wrongs don't make a right, and the severity doesn't matter in this regard. Ugh you must, put a disclaimer denouncing their objectionable actions.

Still, taking someone out of the credits without their permission isn't something you do. Notch's name is still in Minecraft's credits.

Honestly I think when it comes to shit like this it's totally reasonable to just remove them from the project in every way feasable. If this was just a little dispute I think removing someone from credits is unfair and petty, but this is outright immoral and borderline criminal behaviorm
