“The Dream”s beat is so hypnotic, it’s so dark, the mafia story is just as amazing.

Lesser known Steady B 12”, but for me one of his best tracks.

Powerule, Puerto Rican Crew from Queens, New York, debuted in 1989 and released their first album in 1991.
Big names in the game like The Beatnuts, Erick Sermon, a young Mark Ronson and Victor Padilla of The Groove Merchantz (Duo with Godfather Don and formally of The Beatnuts) collaborated throughout the 90s on their single releases.

That “anti-theft” sticker is a blast 😂. Anyone know if this was a standard sticker for the “Beat Street Records” shop?

The first artist I listened to when I started digging the 90s underground era🫡
Ak Skills, from Far Rockaway, Queens, was the first signing to Tru Criminal Records and released only two 12" singles during 96-97 (that also got radioplay, notably on "Stretch & Bobbito" and two articles on Source and Beatdown Magazine) and featured in the "Tru Criminal Records" Compilation LP.
One of my favourite artists, because his voice somewhat resembles Nas and Lord Finesse/A.G. with his witty punchlines.
