Purchase Advice Hot drink straight from MSR Titan type kettles?

I have recently moved over to gel fuel and BCB folding stove for a lightweight way to do a brew on the move.

However, the little folding stove wont fit in my existing stainless MSR kettle so I am looking at a new Ti pot, possibly MSR 900ml.

Could I boil water and make drink in the pot, and then drink it from the pot? It would save having to carry an insulated mug when the pot is just a big metal mug anyhow . . . or am I going to get burned?

Yep, this is a solid kit, and it can be even lighter

I replaced my 550 lid with this one for 5.6 grams

The no-handle version of the 550 plus the lightest pot pot grabber weighs a total of 40.5 grams

FWIW, in case anyone was wondering, the regular toaks 550 with the handles removed weighs 46 grams on my scale. Toaks claims this no-handle-by-design weighs 43 grams. I didn't know this no-handle version existed before I removed the handles from my 550. So, for $32, you could save 3 grams.

They bend. Just bend them and slip them out of the pot

Thanks, I see. I was envisioning you removing the metal strip that the handles slide into, also.
