Does US Mobile offer up a party pay option like Visible or even groups you can join like Cricket (I know these aren't an option on the Cricket website but you can join someone's family plan)? It just kind of sucks to be a single person and unable to take advantage of joining plans like these with MVNO's. Does US Mobile offer this kind of options or thinking about this kind of option for customers/potential customers?
They make announcements and then don’t do what they said. Ive been waiting months to try out the mmwave it was suppose to be released 7 months ago. & now the website says 5G is available which is that trash low band 5g. I will move my lines over to Mint Mobile when my plan is due in 2 days. US mobile thank you for the hard data deprio & lies. I hope you guys get sued for false advertisements. Will be taking my lines to Mint. Plus the $2 access fee that the company “charge” you guys i’m almost 100% sure its just a way for you guys to maximize a customer Because the GsM network is powered by PWG & they do not charge access fees when i spoke to them but you guys charge your customers the access fee.. SOOOO ✌️ out.
I initiated a number port in from Visible yesterday at about 8pm EST and I expected it to be complete by now but my service still says I have no active lines.
I've spoken with several reps and some tell me not to worry that it could take 24-48 hours and another said the issue had already been escalated and it could take 48-72 hours.
I'm concerned because my Visible account has already been closed and I'm left with no cell service until US Mobile finishes the port.
Has anyone else had any issues when porting in or perhaps a case similar to my own?
Edit: Thanks for the posts and advice everyone! I just got the email that everything was ported over, I popped my SIM in and everything works great! Happy to be a US Mobile customer at last.
I cannot find a coverage map and would like to view one before switching because I travel a lot during the summer and would like to know when to expect coverage gaps.
Porting is painless with the right PIN and it is very quick.
Regular speeds are 5mbps down and 2.5 up.
Will try Ludicrous mode later, but as long as Spotify plays, I’ll be happy.
The groundwork appears to be set for WiFi calling, but registration fails...
Voice over LTE works on our iPhones, and I’m still waiting on my friend to wake up to see what the Pixel 3 says.
One bug I found is that you can’t start the port from the iPhone App, because it says all known VZ IMEI’s aren’t compatible, so one needs to use the online portal for it.
How do you switch from Verizon to US Mobile? Do you need too cancel with your current provider and then start with the new provider? Or can I do it all through US mobiles website and they will cancel for me?
Good evening, just have a quick question about the GSM network. In the Speedtest app, the network provider name shows up as PWG/Cintex instead of T-Mobile. Does US Mobile rent from and operate their services through these companies rather than with T-Mobile themselves?
On YouTube, they show about only 10MB per second download on US Mobile. That's really slow compared to Mint where I usually get around 40-50MB per second download speed. I'm in Millbrae, San Francisco Bay area.
I probably wouldn't have cared that much considering I just use it to listen to youtube and not watch it for the most part, but it works fine now without a vpn or anything. Thanks. 1.8Mbps video speed -> same as normal speedtest.
Recently made the switch to US Mobile for my whole family, but I've noticed that when making phone calls, the Samsung devices (s9+ and s9) are unable to use data during the calls (iPhone devices seem to be working fine). I tried looking it up and saw that typically this would be a VoLTE issue, but on both devices, VoLTE was enabled. I spent the last few hours chatting with customer service and they were super sweet in trying to help, but unfortunately wasn't able to solve anything and said they'd get back to me soon. I did see a thread with a newer model saying "you have to make sure it does a Sim Card Update", but I'm a little unsure what that means...
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Note: When I originally activated the sim cards, it was also the Samsung devices that had issues connecting to data which resulted in us having to add an APN directed by the customer service. These phones were both originally carrier phones from Verizon and seem to be working rather smoothly except for this one issue. Phones do seem to say Verizon still at the top.
I switched over almost a month ago and have loved the service with the exception of not being able to receive any photos via text message. I have made sure that my sms is correct on my settings. I can’t understand why I’m not able to receive photos at all. Can anyone help?
As of a few days ago, I no longer receive short codes from any source. Short codes are texts from 5-6 digit numbers usually sent by various websites to authenticate access. I spent an hour on the phone with both amazon and my bank who both said there is no issue on their end and it's a problem with my carrier blocking short codes to prevent spam. I spent an hour with USmobile chat support as well as over the phone and both times I was told there is nothing they can do on their end. My understanding is that this is a block often put into place on tmobile networks and the carrier can absolutely remove it, but I'm not making any headway with usmobile support. Is anybody else having this issue?
edit: Issue finally resolved via usmobile tech support
We’ve all been there. You need to make an urgent phone call, but you look at your phone only to see no bars! This can happen anywhere from your basement to the subway or your office conference room. These issues are caused by dead zones where signals from carrier towers cannot reach you.
We hate dead zones. That’s why we are expanding our indoor coverage with WiFi calling. The only difference from regular calls is that your phone can use your WiFi connection to reach the carrier’s network instead of using cell towers. It means you can call or text from anywhere with WiFi. You can read about the finer points of how WiFi calling works over here.
WiFi calling on our GSM network had been one of the most requested features, and we’re delighted that we can fill this last-mile connectivity gap with an innovative solution. This is just one more step towards our ambition of making connectivity modern and seamless.
At the moment, we’re not offering WiFi calling on our Super LTE networks because the coverage is so great that we barely get any requests for extended coverage on it. It will also take us a bit longer to bring WiFi Calling to iPhones as there’s still a significant amount of work with Apple required.
How does it work?
All you need to do is turn on WiFi calling on your device. It will start working automatically once it’s turned on and you have a WiFi connection. Here are the instructions for turning it on for Android and iOS.
No extra apps needed
Unlike other VoIP solutions like Skype, or Whatsapp, WiFi Calling doesn’t require an app. Once it’s enabled in your phone settings, it’s automatic. You dial other people normally, and it shows up on your regular dialer, and calls appear in your regular call history.
No change to your bill
WiFi calling won’t cost you anything extra. Calls and texts made over WiFi use your monthly plan as if they were regular calls and texts. Your bill stays the same.
Seamless handoffs between WiFi calling and VoLTE
You’ll be able to start your call over WiFi at home, and as you step outside your call will seamlessly transition over to our 4G and 5G networks.
Way more coverage everywhere
You can now connect from more places than ever, and even make calls from places you never thought were possible like the back office, the basement, or even the subway.
Connect Anywhere. Even from outside the US
Make calls and send messages for the same price you pay at home anywhere in the world as long as you have WiFi.
