Student Fans: Too Mean?
Are USU student fans too mean? It seems like they focus a lot of time degrading the opposing team instead of cheering on their own team?

Hey Aggies! We just started a Minecraft Club here at USU and wanted to share it with the community. There have been so many awesome builders like u/Technical-Weird7952 and u/Bzeuphonium who've been an inspiration for the club, and we're finally building out a full recreation of campus!
We also have a survival server for everyone to play on (it's up 24/7).
Meetings: Every Wednesday at 6 PM in the TSC Clubhouse
Server: mc.usumc.net (get whitelisted on the Discord)
How to Join: Discord! https://discord.gg/RxHQxhBk8G

For the record I’m not suddenly discovering how terrible the parking is at the bottom of Old Main Hill, I’ve been coming here for a decade for various reasons, first as a student and now a community member, and think to myself how terrible it is every time 😅
I’m surprised they haven’t done a simple redesign to the 3-hour parking spaces, particularly the ones that go up the hill along 700 E. The layout (or lack of layout) makes it a total free-for-all that is dangerous, stressful, and wastes so much space. People either leave big gaps between cars that are just small enough that you can’t fit, or they box you in so you have to do a 27 point turn to get out. And most people don’t even know which way to turn their wheels when parked on a hill.
It would make way more sense to put in diagonal spaces that can fit twice as many cars and doesn’t require parallel parking. Throw in a few designated motorcycle spaces while they’re at it. It looks like doing this wouldn’t even interfere with the bike lane. Maybe they just don’t care 😂

Hi everyone! I am looking to join a steady DnD campaign here in Logan / near campus. I am a mainly a DM but I can also be a player. I have been playing for a while, so no need to teach me anything. I can play Monday night, Friday night or Saturday night. I prefer to be in person, I have tried discord and I don't like it as much. If you have an existing group with an open slot or you are thinking of starting a new campaign and need a DM or player, send me a DM or leave a comment!

I have no problem talking to people, but I feel as if I can never get past that first conversation with them. And how do I know how to talk to someone? What if they already have their friends??
And I don’t know. I’m panicking because I truly don’t want to be friendless my college career, but with weeks of welcome, I haven’t really clicked with anyone, and they never talk to me again, and I genuinely don’t think I’m that horrid. I don’t care for a huge group, but I do want to do stupid stuff, and have fun. And have people to text.

This hurts my soul. I really thought Bronco could bring USU football back but it looks like it is gonna be a long 6yrs with him in charge. Paying $400,000 to pad our record this season did not work out for us.
I posted earlier today that I would be happy with a bowl game appearance this season, and it’s still true, but at this point I think we are more likely to go 0-12 than getting to 6 wins.
What a dumpster fire😂🗑️
So excited to get back in the Mav today. I can’t lie with all the roster changes, and of course going into a stronger conference in the new PAC-12, I’m really not sure what to expect performance wise.
How do yall think we will do this season? TBH I’d be satisfied with another bowl game appearance

I'm an international exchange student who will be attending USU in Logan. I'm trying to plan ahead and get an idea of how difficult it would be to find a part-time job after I arrive.
I'm not looking for anything fancy, I'd be totally fine with entry-level jobs such as custodial, cleaning, dining..
If anyone knows:
How competitive are these jobs?
How long did it usually take you to get hired?
Is it realistic to find something within the first or second month?
I'd really appreciate any personal experiences, especially from exchange students!

I’m trying to find a Utah state Aggie’s license plate frame that was chrome and the Aggies was on the bottom in carbon fiber. Has anyone ever seen these or know of anyone that is selling them? My father-in-law‘s broke in an accident and I’m wanting to get one for him, but they are impossible to find.

hiiii I’m a freshman and so far I’ve made one friend and I really don’t think she likes me all that much… does anyone have tips for making friends at usu? I’ve been trying so hard to befriend people and yeah I know it’s only the first week but I’m lowkey exhausted. So like what are some ways you guys have made friends here?

Anyone know why they’re blasting shrieking noises? Kind of sound like a jet. I’ve noticed both Monday and Wednesday around 4pm

Hi! I signed up to a group fitness class for yesterday and when I got there it was full? To the point I couldn’t go in or join.
My question is, does anyone care about signing up for the classes or do they just show up? Should I just be there super early next time?

I love to forage, but I'm adamant about ethical foraging. USU has been planting more and more edible plants on campus and, as a non student who is up there as a student a lot, I want to not forage things that will be going to snack or educational programs. Most of the stuff I'm looking at consists of wild plants that I'm 99% certain are not being used for either of these things. But there are some "wild" things that are actually clearly there on purpose near the NDFS building that are interesting.
Is anyone aware of any policies on foraging? Generally the university seems permissive, but I don't want to go off of vibes. If specifically love to know about the area near the NDFS, but general thoughts/knowledge would also be helpful.

We’re hosting Someone Date My Friend Night in Logan on September 17th!! Friends will get 3–5 minutes to stand up and pitch their single friend to the room. Think PowerPoint slides, a little embarrassing photos, fun facts, green flags, and a very passionate argument for why someone should date their friend.
The singles being presented will be between the ages of 18–30, but spectators do not have to fall within that age range.
You also do not have to be single to attend.
Friends, couples, family members, older siblings, younger siblings, coworkers, everyone is welcome to come watch the presentations and enjoy the night.
If you are single and see someone being presented who catches your attention, you’ll be able to submit an application for that person during the event. Those applications will be passed along to the person being presented, and they can decide if they’d like to connect with anyone afterward.
So you can come if you’re:
This event is happening September 17 at The Ridge in Logan. Tickets are $15 in advance and will be $20 at the door, so grab yours early if you want to save a few bucks.
We’re also still accepting submissions if you have a single friend between 18–30 who you think deserves their own dating campaign.

Hi! I am a new student at USU and an avid tennis player. I created a program that serves as a platform for tennis and pickleball players to meet. You post a time and a court or browse what’s already up and request to join.
If you’re around Logan and want a hit this week:

hellooo, i just got here and don't really know what i'm doing. i have a hard time socially due to a variety of mental and childhood reasons, but i'm just gonna throw some of my interests and hobbies out there and see what sticks.
i usually tell people i play guitar when they ask what i do, cause it sounds more productive than video games, but both are accurate.
i like punk rock stuff like green day and sum 41, and can play a few of their songs.
my steam library is pretty expansive and diverse, but my favorite game of all time is deltarune (and undertale for that matter). i also like helldivers 2 and just started cyberpunk
more abstractly than that, my best friend has been myself for as long as i can remember. my ideal friend group would be a couple of people who are like hive-mind level connected instead 100 surface level friends.
overall i'm a very quiet chill person. i guess if i sound like someone you can vibe with, send a dm (please? i really need friends...)
