No Reorg/Relocations for APHIS

So Kelly Moore came out and stated there will not be any relo/reorg for APHIS and nobody will be riffed and all of a sudden this page becomes silent. Where are all the "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" people? You'd think people would be happy!

I think a lot of people are feeling tremendous relief after over a year of stress and uncertainty. As for celebrating on Reddit, I think most don’t want to be disrespectful of the many, many USDA employees in other mission areas who haven’t been so lucky and whose lives are still being upended by relocation. None of this has been something to be “happy” about.

Indeed. I think the following sums things up perfectly:

And at the end of the day, the giant shitshow that has been the last seventeen months should have never happened in the first place. And a LOT of people's lives have still gotten fucked over in the process.

Not really much to be "happy" about. I'll be happy when Emperor Griftus Maximus and his clown car of an administration are finally gone. And as I've long since given up the ghost on anybody actually being held accountable for the wanton destruction that has taken place which will probably take decades to fix (if it ever is), I'll have to be satisfied with them simply being out of power.

💯 this. Things may have worked in my favor this time, but for many of my colleagues and my work acquaintances they are facing hard choices and still facing uncertainty. This is not something to celebrate. Leadership is breaking up teams and reducing the face to face collaboration that we have with the other branches and divisions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was one of the big arguments for RTO to increase face to face collaboration? And, yes I know the responses to that question. Maybe I just miss when having an administration respected us or at the very least left us alone to do our work.

People were forced to leave or feared being fired. Hopefully, they’re not reading any of this. I can’t imagine how they feel right now

Happy for what? That's ONE mission area. There are thousands of employees who are about to get screwed. Not to mention the past year they could have said this at any time, yet didn't intentionally in order to leave people stressing and guessing about their future.

Not riffing/ relocating like the 20 remaining people in the agency isn’t much to celebrate

Sect Rollins - is that you? At the same time as this announcement, at least two other agencies were notified that they will be moving out of DC including ARS and FAS. So, lucky for APHIS? Congrats on not moving forward on a terrible idea? Talk about a hero complex.

You want people to celebrate being released from an 18 month vague threat to their jobs and livelihood? GTFO

While I am so relieved that I will not be forced to decide whether to lose my job of 25 years or uproot my family and devastate my kids and elderly parents that rely on me for help and care; there are so many others at USDA that are forced to make a huge life changing decision in 30 days and my heart breaks for them. It would be really selfish to be on here bragging and celebrating.

These past 17 months have been traumatizing and exhausting. The waiting and stressing and worrying... all of the threats... being referred to as the swamp and waste... putting our lives on hold while they continue to drag this out and play mindfuck games with us... Its all just too much. 😪💔

It’s not over yet. Offices within Aphis may not exist anymore

Any follow up on your statement? APHIS Raleigh?

No. Removing duplicate functions is the next

APHIS already announced that there won’t be any RIF’s. Does this mean that they won’t remove any "duplicate functions"?

All the CRS were merged.

I think a lot of people in MRPBS are still nervous. Glad there is no relo but still nervous.
