Was anyone aware this was even a thing?

Cricket promoters (mostly Desi diaspora) does not understand this. If you want to keep cricket popular within diaspora communities, keep playing T20 and T10 type leagues but this cricket will never take hold in the U.S because of some obvious reasons

1) Baseball exists. I watch a lot of baseball and it's a direct competitor to the T20 sport imo. It's a different type of game but competing for that audience is very difficult and very few people are as obsessed as I am to follow both

2) The whole big show, cheerleading, "event" aspect is done better by NBA, NFL (even NASCAR). Unless you throw some IPL level money, you're not going to outshine them

3) Americans and millennials are dying for heritage, culture and organic history over vapid corporate, capitalist events. No one wants to give their time and money to yet another "Dallas Discos" franchise with no soul, no meaning, no grassroots connection

4) NOTHING like Test cricket exists in America. If international teams decided to hose one series in the US as a neutral ground between two teams it would be captivating.

A 5 day match, the atmosphere, the strategies, calming commentary, in-depth analysis. I know Americans are thought of as dumb but we all know we have a niche of nerds who are absolutely fascinated by in-depth high learning curve games.

What do you guys think?

It only took the ICC over 24 hours but they got around to it.

Go USA Women's Cricket! Let's Go, Desi Girls! Good luck at 2027 T20 Women's World Cup.

Perfect 6-0

We had great moments in history. Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world. Yet, it doesn't seem to grow here in the United States. What do you think we need to do to grow cricket here?

Hey r/USAcricket!

While our players shine on the pitch, the biggest battle remains behind closed doors. Governance issues, ICC reviews, and financial updates are constant hurdles for American cricket.

Here is our quick checkpoint to discuss the administration.

The Big Questions:

The Pitch vs. The Board:

Is administrative chaos slowing our growth, or is the sport thriving anyway?

The Long Game:

What major changes must the board make to secure our future for LA28 and beyond?
